Aawww...what a cute little TV you have summercamp. What is it 42" or so. How quaint. Though I must image you are getting a little board of R:FoM and Zelda by now. Don't worry though, since the PS3 is future proof and has a 10 year life span I'm sure you will have some games to play...eventually. Maybe if your lucky I'll show you my 106" screen and my 360 sometime.

I don't think a comic contest will make a difference. The main thing holding back a Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 3 is the poor sales in the US. There's a lot of hype for this game online (the fans are very outspoken) but the actual sales just don't add up. Check out the chart for buzz here. Fans pushed up the buzz a while back but it just keeps decaying over time. The initial sales in the US appear to be rather weak, too, which is forcing the game's stock down.

I think Phoenix Wright is doing fairly well here in the States. It seems to be doing better than Viewtiful Joe did (I haven't looked up the numbers, I'm just going by sales in my area). Both Ace Attorney games are usually sold out at the local Gamestops. Some places like Walmart and Target never carried them locally that I'm aware of. That probably hurts sales more than anything.

Hopefully the 3rd game makes it out to the rest of the world. I know I couldn't put the first 2 down. And wasn't the 4th confirmed for release to North America and Europe? I could swear I read that somewhere.

Okay, first, summercamp, STFU. I'm a ninty fanboy at heart, but I'm stupified at the lengths some people will go to to insert stupid ranting into a COMPLETELY unrelated topic.

Also, PowerTrade1337... yes... I can see how Capcom would be worried that the fictional stock associated with the game in an imaginary market is showing decline. At least, that's what I think you linked to... it's hard to tell what exactly that is.

Anyway, regarding the actual CONTEST... there are some really good entries there, WAY too many with the same damn "Phoenix can't speak Japanese" joke, or them just standing around arguing about whether the game will sell... which, honestly, isn't funny at all. Please, think of the Bugles.
I, unfortunately, was too lazy to get my entry done before the last couple days, and then my computer died for a week... so no entry for me. It would have just been "your mom" jokes, though. Well, "your dad" anyway.

The sales may be weak relative to the online buzz (the Snakes on a Plane effect) or compared to other big-name DS titles, but I would still think that they're performing somewhat respectably given the fact that this type of game has a fairly limited appeal among the masses.

But keep in mind, GS3 is done. It has been done for quite some time. While porting GBA game to the DS and giving it the fantastic localization that the first two titles enjoyed (grammatical errors aside) DOES cost money, I would assume it would be a relatively safe investment for Capcom.
