In between celebrating Oktöberfest (there probably aren't dots over the "o"... but I really wanted to use it) and Halloween, you may be interested in the idea of this new thing called the PlayStation HOME -- it's pretty much the biggest announcement Sony has made since... those other big announcements. Anyway, some release details have surfaced about HOME and we're here to keep you in the loop.First up, the release date is scheduled for October with a file size not surpassing 500MB for free. Further updates will be insignificant in size, but chock-full of good stuff. Probably. A closed beta is taking place from April to August for about 15,000 people (pointing at our website name, we mouth the words "Please, Sony!") and then from August to October there will be an open beta for about 50,000 people.
This is coming off of that PDF we let you take a look at before, remember? We're getting around to reading most of it, but other places are a bit quicker to pick up on important details. Kudos, EuroGamer. We'd be interested to see how much HOME changes from the closed beta to the finished product, but of course, we'd have to be involved to know that! So... please, Sony?
