Student-developed DS games available in Japan

Nintendo of Japan has announced a new program to make student-developed DS games available to the public. Every two weeks a new creation will be available to download for free from DS stations around the country. The games have you doing everything from communicating with aliens by drawing on the touch screen to shouting into the microphone.

How about sharing the love with the rest of the world, Nintendo? Don't count on it. A Nintendo rep told Eurogamer the promotion is an exclusive Japanese market initiave.

You know, because the rest of the world hates free games.
