Viva Pi�ata demo now available

A demo of Viva Piñata is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace. Clocking in at just under a gig, the demo promises to let you raise your own sparrowmint piñata. Viva Piñata vets will know that sparrowmints are available fairly early in the game, but the demo should give players ~~about 30 minutes to an hour~~ plenty of gameplay. Considering the high hopes that Microsoft originally pinned on the game, we wonder why it took this long to release a demo. With any luck, maybe this will convince more gamers that Viva Piñata is worth checking out. Trust us, if you give it a chance, you'll find that Viva Piñata is very addictive.

Update: It looks like the demo has more gameplay than we thought. Enjoy.

In some ways I think the late demo was smart. They now have a base of early adopters who like the game and a good amount of strong reviews, even a good amount of end of the year awards. It could push more interest in the title, which seems to be selling decently enough each month. I think when all is said and done it will be a good success.

I've been playing it for 2 hours non-stop and the demo is still running, so either I suck at Viva Pinata or they put a lot of stuff in there... I got like 10 different pinatas and so much stuff I'm barely able to manage it.

i'm in europe and the demo is not coming up

Hey Europe,don't feel bad in Canada we don't get half to 3/4's of the downloads either. Microsoft better figure out a way to deal with the U S only problem before the compation does or MS will find it's monoply on online counsel gaming slip away. Once you start to slide down a slope it is very diffacult to get back to the top.

hasn't there been a viva pinata demo out for some time? i might be wrong but i feel like i've seen it a few times on the xblm and never chose to download it before. was that just my imagination?

Maybe it wasn't worth reporting, but they finally got a demo for Star Trek Legacy up on Live too ...

I think what you're talking about is the Viva Pinata Interactive Video. It's listed under Game Demos but does not offer any actual gameplay.
