Questions: Do you feed it tripe rations? Will it rob shops if you train it? Does it go wild if you abandon it on a level? Are there any bonuses if you ascend with it?

Nethack with motion capture. Whodathunkit.

For a moment there I thought he was going to say "how do you control a dog? Talk to it" and say the game was going to use the headset for dog commands.
Interesting idea, wonder how much it'll impact gameplay.

Seems just as random as a real dog since you can't control it.

Cool.

I might consider renting this game now.

I don't want to worry about having to constantly heal a fuxxin dog all the time (It got gimped from 2 hobbes! WTF!). Molyneux, you better add cooler pets like a dragon or a tiger or some shit. A dog is WEAKKKKSAUCEEEE

Looks impressive. Amusing that two and a half years into development and they've pretty much just modelled a dog, though.

I thought this was lame at first but after watching the demo I'm kinda excited for it.
The thought of having a close bond to a companion animal reminded me a lot of Shadow of the Colossus and I also remembered ::SPOILER ALERT:: how sad I was to see my poor horsey fall down the cliff. :'(

There is more to this game than just the dog. You can buy any piece of property, have relationships with people, have kids, be a king if you want and more. It will be a better game than what some may think.

Let's see what Peter delivers versus what is said. Because after his past four games, he seems to be running off 100% bullshit fuel...

Well, it was cool for a pet dog. A drunken midget troll may have been more entertaining.

He he he, sorry man, had to take the shot, no hard feelings. I've argued enough with you about so much random sh*t that I figured a little cheap shot to the kidneys wouldn't do too much damage =)

Myke,

That was hilarious. I didn't mean my comment as an internet troll in the least. I was thinking more like a drunken troll like from the movie Willow as your companion would be more entertaining than a dog.

Having good ol' trusty JonT at your side to remind you of how sweet your system is and how kiddy the Wii is might get old after a while.

Wow, wikipedia forgot one of the biggest hype aspects to me. The ability to harm villagers in ways that last. Like you could cut a child, come back 15 years later to see a grown man with a matching scar and a severe hatred for you.

Important things to make note of.

1. Very long draw distance
2. Pretty fur on the dog
3. Nice animations

Looks like this is going to be a good looking game, even if they don't entirely live up to expectations.

The dog is neat, but he shouldn't come at the expense of other content. Would you shorten Oblivion by 10 percent for a Dog?

Has nobody here ever played Shadow of the Colossus? Though graphically subordinate, Agro in SotC showed more character than the dog in a much more realistic fashion. This really is nothing new.

Am I the one underwhelmed with the graphics in Fable 2? I hope they look a lot better. I've been looking forward to this game for a long time even though I do not yet own an Xbox 360.

So graphics can't spur innovation right, I mean it's all about gameplay and simplistic games right? I'm confused, which on is it?

"28. So graphics can't spur innovation right, I mean it's all about gameplay and simplistic games right? I'm confused, which on is it?"

Are you stalking me? If so, you'll realize I've never said that graphics can't spur innovation. However, I recall seeing pictures of Fable 2 awhile ago that looked amazing. And I never said the game was going to suck because the graphics weren't up to par; I said I was "underwhelmed". Furthermore, I am not pleased with some of the offerings on the Wii (I assume you've pre-emptively labeled me a "Wii fanboy") from a graphics perspective because I know they can do a lot better. How do I know? Because I've played games on the GAMECUBE that were gorgeous.

In this case, relatively speaking to the offerings on the Xbox 360, I am "underwhelmed" by the graphics. Of course you chose to get butt hurt because I said I was underwhelmed by the graphics, while stating that Fable 2 will be the reason I get an Xbox 360. Way to cherry pick!

I enjoyed the original Fable because, in my opinion, it was very simple. Not a whole lot involved. You go from point A to point B. No massive over world map. You have a few spells you can cast. Most of the time though, at least in my case, you're just hacking and slashing at people.

Fable is simple; Morrowind is complex. I would much rather play say, Metal Gear Solid than I would Splinter Cell. Again, it's a matter of simplicity vs. complexity. I have a job working almost 40 hours a week and responsibilities. I do not have time to invest learning some complex, convoluted control scheme just to have a good time. In fact, that's the exact opposite of a good time in my book.

I think the whole dog aspect adds a layer of complexity that won't necessarily mean fun.

I'm also still leery about purchasing an Xbox 360 after all the people I know who have had problems with them. I also had numerous problems with several of the original Xboxes. Besides, Xbox is still too expensive for me to warrant spending any money on. But a price drop and Fable 2 will do much to sway those views.

Easy enough to understand, right?

Future advice: keep your one liners to yourself.
