It's not been overshadowed; I prefer to see the whole library of 360 games this year as one volume in a bigger gaming encyclopedia!

Their E3 demo looked pretty damn sloppy but the game is looking a lot sharper now. I think their only potential misstep would be to release in the same month as Halo 3.

More 360 games the better. Let's put the FINAL nail in SONY's Coffin and a thumb tack in Wii's Wii !!!

I listened to the podcast. Holy crap, he chew's EGM's butt for bad mouthing a demo from last year! 1 hour and 40 mins of him whining.

Why did he get so offended from a bad article about a demo, which he said was bad last year?!?

This put me off on his products. He should have just put it behind him and moved on, worked on a kick ass game and been done with it.

you can look at his 3 degrees here! what a douche. Talk about things for the game and give us info about it!

With all the crap about Too Human, its no wonder he was offended with what was said. If you listen to the podcast, Denis has some points, and Mark has some points, and they both delve into 'he said she said' name calling when they get really into it, but come out of it in the end. Benjamin, there's no way you listened to the podcast, as maybe half of it was the E3 debacle, the rest was what happened in that time since. Nothing like letting the internet form your opinions for you.

But, the point at hand, Too Human has never been overshadowed for me. It has been my absolutely most anticipated game ever. IGN should have a huge media blowout in a week or so, and I think interest in this game will skyrocket after that. I'm thinking an early summer release, but thats just me.

Your right, I never listened to the podcast, oh wait I did.

He never lets it die. He brought a bad demo to E3, got bad press, Oh my god. He got what he deserved. I am not saying this game will turn out being horrible. But jez, who has ever said "Well 2 years ago their demo sucked so I am not going to buy it."

At what point does he in the podcast not bring up the 'bad press' ? The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth, thats my opinion Matthew

This is actually at the top of my most-anticipated-titles list. Reason being that this game has really gone through the ringer and I'm very curious to see how it turns out. I'm really hoping for the best, as the 360 needs a killer action/adventure game.

My favorite games from last gen were Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Ninja Gaiden. We really need something in that same vein for this gen.

I have to say, I had no idea what the big deal was in regards to "too human". I was definitely one of the nay-sayers who saw the gameplay footage, and wondered what the fuss was about. the gameplay just seemed so derivative.

From the sounds of it, Denis was probably screwed by everyone at every turn. Eidos does have a certain notoriety of rushing products, and under funding their developers, so there is the chance that the game was showcased far too early… which just caused bad publicity… so yeah. Russian roulette with a fully loaded gun.

Though, his ranting and raving gives me a little bit more faith in the product… because if it’s e3 showing was premature, and the game has evolved greatly since then… well, I’ll keep an eye out for this one.

Unfortunately, thats been the opinion of many people around here, which I believe was his whole point. The entire second half af the podcast he talks about what Too Human has become and many gameplay elements to it, which you complained about not hearing in your post, it all seems a little strange.

Matthew,

If people formed their opinion on the game then that sad, because thats like forming a purchasing opinion on the next gen machines today.

I work in the manufacturing business and if we bring a shoddy item to the market as a demo/proto-type (I hope it never happens again!), we have made a mistake yes, but it was OUR mistake and try to make up for it by bring out a great demo/proto-type while admitting it and putting it behind us, even if we have negative press.

I don't denounce this game because the game hasn't been release yet. I just find it not very bright to rant about a bad demo review at the last E3 when we might not see this game till, well who knows!

When a complete copy is dropped on my desk I will then choose what I think about the game, I am just saying that the man behind this is not acting very accordingly.

Dyak's EGM Podcast rant was completely insane. He kept saying that he thinks that video game journalists need to be "even more critical" than they already are, but would then go on to criticize them for their remarks about the E3 build. He was blaming his troubles on everyone from Microsoft and magazine editors to the entire industry as a whole: everybody but himself. He's probably so defensive because he knows the game is gonna suck.

That podcast sucked. They just went on and on about the bad review. I got the point and understood both sides of the story after the first 15 minutes... was hoping they'd wrap it up after about a half hour... and had completely tuned it out after an hour. There were some interesting, yet vague, things mentioned about how Too Human will have a cinematic automatic camera system and a very deep story. Also, it uses the Unreal Engine (which we knew) but will look completely different from Gears of War. My take on the bad review is... good! fine! give them a bad review! Maybe then they'll freak out, get their shit together, and fix what's broken!
