Valve interview from GameTrailers
3
GameTrailers has posted an interview with Valve's Doug Lombardi discussing the upcoming Orange Box for Xbox 360. The Orange Box, for those who don't know, contains Half-life 2, HL2 episode 1 and 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal. Lombardi talks about the revisions to the source engine since Half-Life 2 first launched and what is possible with multiple core processors. He discusses some of Gabe Newell's comments about the PS3 and Valve's current opinion of the Wii as well. Also, sprinkled throughout the video are some very pretty snippets of the games included in the Orange Box. For fans of Half-Life, it's definitely worth a look. Give it a watch and tell us what you think.

Personally, I'm glad to see this coming out. I decided to buy a 360 this Feb, rather than upgrade my PC, so I'm pretty excited to see boxed editions that will retail for cheap. This is 4 games, all for the price of one.
I would also like to see some more of the semi-old games coming out in box sets.
(Ex. Doom 3 and Resurrection of Evil in one box, for $60.)

This is a great bit of interview. It is nice to hear that blunt honesty from a dev about how Valve just "missed" on the Wii.
I haven't played HL2 so I too am excited about a boxed compilation like this. Should make the $60 easier to part with since I'm getting so much.
And a modular engine system (Source in this case) sounds like a really sound way to building an engine in this ever changing world.
