If you're the sort who reads the last page of a book before its beginning, bask in the various recordings of the God of War 2 ending that have found their way to YouTube. We picked the extra-long seven-minute cut; witness several missteps by Kratos in addition to the finale.Need we say "spoiler alert?" Watch the video after the break.

The ending was awesome, the PS2 has never had better graphics(that I can think of) and the story was great to boot, nice one thanks for sharing

This has got to be the cheeziest and most childish overated franchise of all time. The guy's vocabulary and the way he expresses himself reminds me of the Incredible Hulk. This game has nothing going for it other than violence and corny dialogue. Also,never was a fan of simulated gameplay mechanics where you have to press a button at the right time in order to finish an enemy off is pathetic. I like free will and being able to finish off an enemy in real time rather than timing my button presses. Zelda FTW.

I thought that looked awesome, I don't see why others don't like it. I haven't actually played the game though, but after seeing this video, I might later when they release another sequel. It would suck to go play a game that really doesn't end the story.

When God of War first came out, my roommate bought it, and i bought Devil May Cry 3 the same day. After a week i finished DMC3 and he finished GoW. We switched games and played them until completion. Afterwards we both agreed that God of War was an overall better game. and with that said, God of War II was even better. This ending is great because it gets me excited to see what this will actually look like on the PS3. I can't effing wait!

I wonder what the ending would be though (havent played GoW2 yet btw). Would our badass hero wipe out the gods or something? Though must say they have probably kept the most interesting battles fro the PS3 - war against the gods = license to use every kind of god, demonic spirit spirit and creture possible as enemy.

Whats with all the GoW hate? I haven't played the second one yet but the first one is pretty damn good. While I do enjoy DMC better, GoW of a fun game and that ending is pretty cool, except for the massive Halo 2 like ending.

I don't "hate" GoW, but I do find it horrendously overrated. Overrated to the extent that this is like Sony's Halo.

I have not played it, but it looks to be a fun game if that is your style of play. However, while a cliffhanger ending should not be a reason to stop yourself from buying a game, it would be nice to see game that have endings that end. You can have a cliffhanger but still have a tie in ending; even 24 does that much.

I also agree that these games are as overrated as the Halo games. The way this game was overhyped is only overshadowed by the incredibly lame Halo 3 hype that we are subjected to on a daily basis. I'll pass.

There is no way this ending can be compared to Halo 2, heck there is no way this can be compared to Halo 2, all Halo 2 does is once again achieves the status of macho man bs who can never be defeated, typical hollywood crap "I never miss!" Besides, if you have an appreciation for greek history, this game is great. I personally think that all who don't like this can go back to shooting aliens or getting eaten by giant fish, as for the comment of 14yr olds being thr only ones playing and it being all about blood and gore, it just goes to show how thick you are, if you actually took the time to study greek history instead of bashing a game based on it and in that case insulting a religeoon and culture, then it is probably best you stick to immature 16 and below games like Halo and Zelda, much more appropriate for not only stupid people, but people not old enough to purchase GTA or God of war or gears of war.

I love the fallacy of the "if you don't make games, you don't have a right to criticize them" argument. If you have studied Greek mythology even for an hour, you'll realize that this game is about as rooted in real mythology as Young Einstein was rooted in the real life of Albert Einstein. Mentioning mythological figures doesn't make the game accurate.
Plus: 'all Halo 2 does is once again achieves the status of macho man bs who can never be defeated'; that's the EXACT vibe I got from GoW.

Hmm, last time I checked, Master Chief was supposed to be Arnold in a green suit saying cool words to get little kids excited and make them feel like they were participating in a real war, if you call that a war, more like racial discrimination, just because the aliens look different doesnt mean you should go and eliminate the entire race. Civil war or not, then somehow, midway between Halo, it went from future Sci fi thiller to yet another boring and depressing braindead shoot em up with prophecies and prophets, wtf? I think I see another Matrix coming along, and now we have "Nerd 3: Finish the elimination" coming out for 360, yay!
Beleive me, you have every right to comment on a game, but to blaitantly say its crap with little or no reasoning or say its overated (which I see really no sign of) is a plain stupid thing to do, and it goes back to the point, think its crap? Do better.
And duh, of course its not made up of real history, how thick would you have to be to think Kratos actually existed at one stage in time, heck, the whole religeon like many is unproven scientifically, but it is a belief either way, and to base it on greek mythology is an interesting and original concept, name me another game in the GOW catagory...I bet you can't. Greek with that type of gameplay? There isn't one, Halo just rips a lot of other peoples ideas and sticks them into one, theres parts of Unreal I have noticed, theres parts of Half life I've noticed, heck, theres parts of all shoot em ups. To be honest, the game is nothing short of a game that should and will become yet another typical hollywood thing, one muscle bound man to save them all. Wheres the plot? Wheres the reasoning, the education, the history, there is nothing there to talk about except another shoot em up with a storyline thrown in last minute.
This cannot be compared to Halo, at no point through a GoW game have I ever gotten so bored stiff I have had to either resort to playing multiplayer or online(luckily as it doesnt have them) or switch the game off entirely and not return to it for months, yet Halo is supposed to be the most overwhelming game ever to be introduced to man. Thats what its made out to be. Didn't like the game? So be it, not everyone likes a game, but don't insult it by putting it next to Halo or even Zelda for that matter as much a Nintendo fan I am.

Don't just the graphics based on a youTube video...youTube videos have TERRIBLE quality.
I play it on a LCD HDTV in 480p and especially the cinematics look breathtaking. Like when Kratos is pulled into the ground, that was the best looking in my mind.
But I am SO pissed at the ending...its like I have to buy a PS3 now for the finale..im pissed.

played it all weekend and finished it.. What a game. they improved on many areas from the first, the story was top notch and the fights required skill - no cheap locations to take pot shots at the bosses. Epic, Epic game. The music was awesome too. The fight with Perseus was a ton of fun.
Someone said that Kratos had the dialogue of the hulk.. That goes to show that the dude didn't even play the game. He's probably a Halo guy looking to spread some negativity - this site is abound with them.
