Finally, a working internet connection... hmm? Sorry. A couple of our readers from the land down under have asked us if we could grab any details regarding the Australian PS3 launch, which is due out in a few days (not unlike Europe and the other areas coming up very soon). GameSpot recently featured just that subject, so we're going to pass on the news like the good people we are.Aussie gamers can camp out in Sydney's Pitt St. Mall, where SCEA (A for Australia, mind you) has decided they, too, will set up camp to keep eager fans entertained. Retailer Myer and SCEA are teaming up to bring the PS3 launch event to life, complete with a Blu-ray screening of Casino Royale. It will be played directly from a PS3 around 9:30PM on March 22nd. There will also be PlayStation giveaways, free massages, a local radio personality, playing the PS3 on a really, really big screen... if only we had such things happening.
The first 100 people to buy a PS3 will also get the Blu-ray of Talledega Nights, and if they're among the first 20,000 people to register for the PlayStation Network, they'll also get the Blu-ray of Casino Royale. Sweet! Enjoy that, fellas. We had to wait in frigid street corners with the faint smell of urine and nervous nerd sweat. Lucky.
