When Microsoft's Shane Kim told 1UP that certain titles we perceive to be PlayStation 3 exclusives weren't so locked up, we figured that he was talking about the Assassin's Creed or Mercenaries debacle. What Nostradamus here was hinting at was probably this: Devil May Cry 4 will be released simultaneously for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360. A PC has also been announced, though it will be shipping on a later date.Capcom announced this news in both a late night press release and on their Japanese website as well. Like every good multi-format press release, it goes on to say that each version of the game will take advantage of the specific strengths of each platform. Well, thank god!
Now that Devil May Cry 4 has been announced for all the next generation consoles, we wait for the other foot to drop. While Capcom has gotten pretty cozy with Microsoft, we're interested in seeing just how long Dead Rising and Lost Planet remain Xbox 360 properties.

Anyhow, are there any other games PS3 has lost exclusivity to 360 which were considered absolutely crucial for PS3?
I'm now betting now that Tekken 6 will appear on both, and maybe even Ninja Gaiden Sigma (but then again, Tecmo usually remains exclusive disregarding dominant platforms, like they did with the first Xbox).

Please Crapcom, Namco and Konami, don't be sell-outs and port those 360 exclusives to PS3 (Eternal Sonata, Culdcept Saga, Lost Planet, Dead Rising), just like it was done with Enchanted Arms (unfortunately, it was crap). After all, those Japanese titles would sell a lot more in Japan on PS3 than on 360, and they would definitely rake some more sales outside Japan. It means mullah.
Yes, I have both, but I wanna use the most games on a single console as possible (personal preference; blu-ray, HDD, Linux, and all my PS1 and PS2 games).

As a representative of the SDF I gotta say Capcom is the suck. DMC4 is going to be absolute crap because it's going to be bogged down the less powerful Xbox3-shitty. We'll never see it run in 1080p and use the Cell to it's full potential. Doesn't matter anyways the DMC isn't that great anyways. We'll just have to wait for all the awesome games that will come out in 1-2 years like MGS4, FFXIII, God of War 3, and GT5.

The installed base argument doesn't really work. If that was the case, no developer would be making an exclusive for any console before it came out like they did with PS2, Dreamcast, Xbox and Gamecube and many consoles before them, and even todays consoles. Furthermore, it's not like Xbox 360 has a huge installed base, if that was the criteria, then all games would still be coming to PS2. The console wars have barely started, so no console has an installed base to crave (besides, the Wii is outselling everything; why isn't it getting ports of everything available on PS3 and 360?)
Don't be naive and assume Microsoft hasn't given any dough. Of course its installed base can make an influence, but it's definitely not the only factor. Money... That's how exclusives start, and that's how exclusives end too.

I own a 360. and I like many other things than shooters and sports games. and shit, I don't even like sports games.
besides, what do you call blue dragon, mass effect, lost odyssey, eternal sonata, dead rising, table tennis, oblivion, virtua tennis, symphony of the night, guitar hero 2, vf5, fable 2, gta4.
oh, I guess they do like other stuff. it just so happens shooters and sports are the most popular (and I can't even fathom why sports sells so well besides the drones of people who buy the same game every year, but I guess this could be said for almost any genre of game)
it's also funny how most of the ps3 games are getting made for 360 as well.
guess people who own different consoles aren't as different as you think. (or maybe 360/xbox just had better shooting and sports games than ps2/ps3? etc)

I could've bought either a 360 or a PS3 in November...is there ANYTHING beside MGS and FF that makes the PS3 a better system? free online? ha. like many have said, you get what you pay for. i love getting demos of mediocre games months after their release over demos of highly anticipated games that aren't coming out for months. not being able to find my friends to play with.

I want to say some words of encouragement to make it all better. But I can't. There is no advantage to paying an extra $200 for the PS3 unless you want bluray. If you only want to play games on your gaming console, then 360 it is. Otherwise you're throwing money down the drain.
