Entire SNES game collection on eBay
Got $15,500.00 sitting around? If you do, you can be the proud owner of every SNES released in the US. The same eBayer who sold his NES game collection back in January is at it again, this time hoping that 16-bit nostalgia is just as powerful as its 8-bit counterpart. All of the games are in mint or near-mint condition and include the original box and instruction manual. At 794 games in all, you'll be paying just under $20 per game. A bargain! The auction ends March 21st and as of the time of writing has yet to receive a single bid. The NES auction closed at over $15,000 with nearly 100 bids, so either 8-bit nostalgia is more powerful or NES fans have more money to throw around.

A lot of games are worth much more than $20 in complete NM/M condition, but a lot of sports games complete will only be worth a couple dollars. It's still a decent deal if you're in the market.

Cheap

Aside from insane completionists (although i've been plagued by completion fever once or twice in the past), i don't see why people would buy it
Who would want Super 3D Noah's Ark?
monkey3 @ Mar 19th 2007 4:47PM
I think i will wait until someone wins the auction, and then rob them.
Vidikron @ Mar 19th 2007 4:46PM
I'm just waiting to snipe it at the last second.
2kings @ Mar 19th 2007 4:48PM
i would put then in a vault like scrooge mcduck and then dive into it nightly

If only i was rich as hell...
Rubang B @ Mar 19th 2007 4:50PM
I would find a way to have sex with that collection.
ncxcstud @ Mar 19th 2007 4:54PM
There were only 794 SNES games? I thought there would've been more than that.

"Who would want Super 3D Noah's Ark?"
I've actually been searching for a copy of that. I want a copy pretty badly, just because I am trying to amass a collection of bootlegs and AFAIK it's the only bootlet SNES game

So the dude finally found a woman and she's making him sell the collection to fund a ring or something. Didn't you people watch the 40yr old Virgin?
AirIntake @ Mar 19th 2007 5:13PM
Ouch. That's why people d/l roms I suppose.
Rubang B @ Mar 19th 2007 5:14PM
I want Super Noah's Ark 3-D really bad, because it's a Bible game in which the levels are shaped like swastikas.
Also, there weren't 794 SNES games. This has 74 duplicates.
Damn I wish I had the Donkey Kong Country tournament cartridge. I played it at the 2nd Blockbuster World Video Game Championships, was the store champion, and got 2 free game rentals a month for a year. I stayed on top of my game that year.

Wow, that's pretty crazy, but I call shenanigans. There's no way that the winner "can be the proud owner of every SNES released in the US." I have one in a box in my basement.... unless he snuck into my house and stole it... oh snap, I'd better check to be sure.

Unintentional double post - sorry!

is this guy a victim of late rent and bounced checks or of a new lady friend who simply wont stand for his juvinile collections? Either way, to amass such fantastic collections and then just sell them off? My sympathies are with him.
LongshotX @ Mar 19th 2007 7:20PM
Virtual Console eat your heart out...
lessbiasedthanmost @ Mar 19th 2007 8:00PM
This my friends is why emulators were invented, that and so you could play games not released in the US. (Hello FF5 Snes).
Goober @ Mar 19th 2007 9:08PM
Sure there's a lot of great games for the SNES but this auction also includes a whole shit load of sports titles that aren't worth value of the plastic they're enclosed in.
Oobgarm @ Mar 20th 2007 7:42AM
I personally know the guy selling this lot. No shenanigans here.
Farseer @ Mar 20th 2007 9:13AM
Sorry Oobgarm,
The shenanigans barb was at the blog author, not the eBay seller. I definitely believe he is selling many SNES games, the blog writer just left out that important word so his article claims that the eBay seller is auctioning every SNES system released in the US. And I know for a fact that I still have my system, so this claim could not be true. :)

in my opinion the sports games are worth something, not as much as many of the others, but they are complete games, just because they were more common doesnt take away from their value now (as old hard to find games). id say all the ea sports ones would be $5 games, and then theres ones like chrono trigger, so this seems like a good deal... just f*ckin expensinve
