Xbox 360 is performing well throughout Europe. Otherwise I cannot understand why the company behind ESL (esl.eu) just launched a console-based eSports service consoles.net

Also 10 million 360s so far are not only sold in the US and UK ;-)

Well when you're console is priced at half of the 360 then it's probably going to sell more. But with that half price comes half the power and half (if not more) third-party support. I think this Frankenstein looking dude needs to worry about how many more hundred Mario games their going to release and stop talking out his pie-hole. How's that online service going Nintendo??

well...im from croatia...and microsoft doesnt even sell the console there nor support xbox live because of the raging piracy. so yea...it wont be selling well there.

other than that...i see no reason as to why it wouldnt sell well in the rest of europe...

I never liked that ugly bastard. When you have a $250 console that is selling off of hype and minigames of course the casual market will follow.

Let me know when a game on the Wii (thats not mario/zelda related) can stack up to the heavy hitters on PS3/360.

Ugly? Yeah, I guess he does look a little like a caveman. Was he in some of those Geico commercials?

Good point about Germany, which is the biggest market MS could have but all the good games have gotten censored, Gears, Dead Rising and Crackdown all come to mind...and those are big name games...France is also a big market, but iit sounds like they are doing something similar with Germany and other EU countries. Reggie needs to stop the smack talk...the Wii Well is starting to run dry...

I'm from Estonia and I can say that neither of them has any presence here. Sure they sell the 360 in stores and I even saw a Wii one time, but the one doing any sort of promoting of their products here is Sony with the PS2 (and PS3 this year, I guess).

Estonia is certainly not the Europe they are talking about since the gaming market here is tiny. However all the consoles and games released in Europe are available thanks to the free movement of goods in the European Union.

Just for reference: I own an Xbox 360 (bought locally) and a DS Lite (imported from Hong Kong) and about ten games for both.

I am from France, and the Xbox 360 is selling great here. Xbox 360 is far more popular than the Wii!

In fact, many people often make fun of the Wii, because it is almost as if Nintendo doesn't know that their system means "Yes," in the French language.

The 360 is doing very well here in the Netherlands.
Croatia and Estonia (eastern europe) aren't exactly rich countries.
So it makes sense.

To "Q", well, it may be "Yes" in France...But in the US, Wii refers to pee.....not something I would name my console for.

Nintendo chose the Worste (by far) name for their console...but its still selling good, mainly because its not stocked on shelves yet...once it does hit that point...it will loose a lot of steam, its still running on its luanch buzz.

In my office with around 30 employees we're four XTS happy owners. Not too bad I think. :)

You folks seem to get this confused a lot, so I'll spell it out for you:

Units shipped DOES NOT MEAN units sold!

They have shipped more than 10 million, but they've sold quite a few less than that. The stores "buying" them doesn't quite count, guys.
