Gyruss ate quite a few of my quarters back in the day. The music made that game! Moving in circles, wave after wave of enemies. This game was hardcore for it's time. It was right next to Tempest and Yier Air Kung Fu (sorry about the spelling there) at my local arcade. You guys know what classic I would like to see? good old fashioned zoo keeper, the arcade version.

Gyruss was awesome and the first arcade title I will purchase since Assault Heroes. This post should be considered an embarrassment for Joystiq and especially Christopher Grant who is normally great.

Come on Konami! Stop giving the 360 people your arcade crap leftovers and bring the Metal Gear Solid franchise over! I will still pick this one up though.. =)

And to answer whoever asked about this being available everywhere. I believe all the arcade titles have been released in EU as will this one.

STFU noob! Gyruss is great, has a wonderful techno-classical soundtrack, unusual gameplay, and a lot less monotony than something like TMNT '89. Variety is good, mmm-kay? We have a modern shooter (ported from Flash from 5 years ago), a team-based retro beat-em-up (emulated/enhanced arcade game from 18 years ago), a remade single-player exploration (emulated/enhanced Playsatation game from 10 years ago), a party game (remade Dreamcast/PC/Playstation game from 7 years ago), and a true arcade classic from 25 years ago.

Just because it's old doesn't mean it's bad.

Get off my lawn, ya whippersnapper.

If I had a 360, I would download Gyruss in a heartbeat. Absolute classic, and the music rocks! Good to see people sticking up for it.

Well, looks like this attack on Gyruss wasn't even necessary, since next week's game is Rare's Jetpac Refueled.
