Japanese release day highlights: 03.22.07
Some game release Thursdays in Japan are surprisingly dull. Today is one of those days, really, but there is some digital sunshine in the Akihabara sky. If you have the means, do consider these three gems before economizing for the big releases of April*:- Armored Core 4 (online mech goodness from From Software; Xbox 360)
- Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu Portable 2 (bigheaded baseball; PSP)
- Front Mission: The First (SquEnix' frontin' robots; DS)
*Next month's Japanese hitters include Super Paper Mario, Gyakuten Saiban 4, Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, and Panel de Pon DS. Wallets at the ready.

Super Paper Mario for Wii!
Finally, another AAA game for the Wii (Zelda is done).
I bet Super Paper Mario will be a huge system seller, here in USA, in Japan, and even Europe...

Personally, I'm wanting that Gyakuten Saiban goodness, but I'd prefer it in English. I can only speak a little Japanese and read even less.

Big selling Wii game ?
I think after getting no titles with decent single player content (or any content period), just about anything Nintendo makes should sell hand over fist.

Not my wallet. There isn't a single title there that looks the least bit interesting to me. Super Paper Mario maybe...but it's yet another Gamecube game that's been ported over to the Wii for the sake of adding in "innovative motion controls". Release a gamecube version and I'm sold.

Watch out man! If you say say something negative or that your not buying Paper Mario for the Wii the Wiifanboys will scream out "ban"! Its pretty irritating.

Any word on whether or not Capcom will be doing with Gyakuten Saiban 4 what they did with the Gyakuten Saiban 2 remake for DS and including english translation with the Japanese release? Normally I would insist on playing the third game first, but since it stars a new character and everything, I figure I might not be missing too much...?

i find it funny that people reason for not wanting super paper mario is because its a port from the gamecube.
Using that logic eternal darkness is rubbish

Super Paper Mario isn’t even a port to begin with. That’s like saying ICO was a port from PS1 to PS2 or Shenmue was a port from Saturn to Dreamcast. It’s just stupid. It changed platforms during development. That’s not the same as a port; it’s just something that tends to happen when the next generation of consoles comes out.

I think I heard somewhere that GS4 will include English dialog, but I don't think I've read anything official. If it does, I might import that special edition.

Need more Front Mission.

Well, I guess that settles that. I tried to check Play Asia myself, but apparently it's blocked here at work.
Jason @ Mar 22nd 2007 1:31PM
Zertoss: Did you go to playasia.com, a porn site, by accident?
I got the "BLOCKED" message at work for trying to go there, but www.play-asia.com works fine.

I'm trying to understand your logic. You say Super Paper Mario looks interesting, and if it existed on the Cube, you would get it. Does this mean you have a Gamecube and not a Wii?
Or are you saying you just don't want to play Super Paper Mario using motion controls?
Jeff @ Mar 22nd 2007 3:01PM
I wish Konami would port the Powerful Pro baseball series here. That game is AWESOME; best baseball game I've played. Too bad it's impossible to play unless you're either with someone who speaks Japanese or know it yourself - it's like a baseball RPG. Don't let the big-headedness fool you. If anything, the graphics are intended as a counterpoint to the game's underlying realism.
