PS3 price difference buys a lot of beer

I LOVE this idea, Microsoft! :) Way to go..but Foster's isn't my brew, personally.

So I'm going to take Rolling Rock as being roughly equivalent to Fosters here. At $21.99 a case, and with a currency conversion rate of about two dollars to the pound, you get, er, a lot of beer.

About 13 cases or 312 bottles (so my calculator informs me).

Another interesting point is that with currency conversion being what it is, the PS3 costs UK buyers almost $850, which is insane for any console.

In the US, the 360 is $200 cheaper than the $600 PS3. Let's say instead of Foster's, we use my favorite, Bass Pale Ale..at $7.99. That's 25 6 packs, or 150 bottles. that rocks!

ipitch19, I'd rather pay $50 a year with Xbox Live to get excellent online content and support from an expierienced company than crappy free substance from Sony, that not only has no idea how to offer online services, but also could care less about the gamer they're 'serving'.

(In other words, I'd rather pay for cable channels than deal with free public access programming.)

Plus I'd also gladly pay $60 for each amazing game on Xbox 360 to build my library than nothing on PS3..because there IS nothing on PS3 worth getting yet, and less chance of it day by day!

I also failed to mention that I could get free water, but i'd rather pay for a good drink instead:)

I could get online with free dialup or pay for cable internet, but I'd rather actually USE the net instead of wait for it on dialup, thanks all the same.

It's ongoing..you get what you pay for, unless again it is a Playstation 3..and in that case you pay for a whole lot of stuff in that shiny black casing that seems to be suffocating the life out of gaming.

Notguiltystyle mentioned a whole plethora of tech he gets with his PS3 for that $600; wi-fi, high def video, etc..well, did he set aside money for a video game system too? I personally can't tell anyone what system fits them, but for me, I want to play games and have a reliable, good online service to back it. If that means I spend more money to get that with Xbox Live and an actual games library, then it's worth it.

That would actually be a good idea to buy all that beer. By the time your done with it, your HD movies will look just like Blue-Ray! But of course you'd have to give up on online to pay for the beer.
