I think this is the first time ever in XBLA history that a "placeholder" retro game port was pulled in order to put out a more robust game in its place. Usually it's the other way around when a bigger title whiffs on certification.

Then again...I guess these are both retro titles. But I doubt they completely re-did Gyruss like they did Jetpack.

Anyway...keep it up Arcade! (I imagine Gyruss will be next week and 6 weeks in a row will be achieved.)

Hmmm, I was actually looking foward to Gyruss, but I'll be able to live without it. I'll try out this game and see if it's worth the 400 pts.

I kinda wish they would spread out the good releases a bit more.
I have a sneaking suspicion were going to get hit with a long consecutive retro release.
Oh well, I have my Castlevania.

I'm a little upset by this. I was really looking forward to Gyruss. I'll prolly download this anyway.. I hope Gyruss comes out soon.

I love how every week that an xbla title is released a bunch of little bitches whine that it isn't some other game that they are hoping for.

Microsoft: This week on Arcade game X!
Spoiled little bitch fanboy: Nice but where is game Y! You mean i actually have to pay money for this game? You must be crazy.
Microsoft: OK you spoiled little kid NO RELEASE NEXT WEEK. How do you like that?
Spoiled little bitch fanboy: I hate you. I love Wii.
Microsoft: Look here comes Master Chief.
Spoiled little bitch fanboy: Wii? Whats a wii? Live Arcade? What's that? Give me Halo 3.

Battle Toads/Double Dragon would make me singlehandedly spend all my monies to buy it for everyone.

That game rocked my socks off.

400 points is a great price!

Rare makes great games; they have one of the best reputations in the entire game industry.

I love games like Perfect Dark Zero, which won the Editor's Choice award from Gamespot because it is incredible, especially when you are playing with Online Co-Op!

And Viva Piniata has some of the most innovative gameplay of any game EVER!!!

Jetpac will be a GREAT Xbox Live Arcade game!

As far as the Draw Distance and Popup are concernced, that only has to do with the way the shader design of the Xbox 360 and PC version uses a different design than the PS3 version.

The designers of the game said that this has nothing to do with hardware. They just took the time to improve the way the shaders and draw distance were calculated in the PS3 version with a software improvment. They said this was something they originally intended on placing in the Xbox 360 and PC versions from the start.

Thankfully, when the Shivering Isles expansion pack is released, the new shader software update will be included with the Xbox 360 version...and that means the Xbox 360 version will LITERALLY be getting a graphics update.

The gameplay of the two versions is MUCH better on the Xbox 360, because the Playstation 3 version doesn't even include things like Horse Armor, and it doesn't let you have the Theives Den and the Wizards Tower at the same time. And the Shivering Isles expansion for the Xbox 360 that was just released won't be available for the Playstation 3 until the end of the year!

The Xbox 360 version is the best one, and I can't wait to see what the improvements will be like to make it even more better.

I don't mind Jetpac and don't care about Gyruss especially compared to Settlers of Catan, I was hoping Settlers of Catan was next but o well, hopefully after Jetpac.
