For whatever reason, it's impossible to get one over here, and at this rate I doubt I ever will. It's simply inexcusable that the Wii is unavailable six months after launch. So much for realizing the dream.

I got fed up with waiting and bought one for a premium off of Ebay. Agreed about the long shortage being intolerable -- I simply don't understand why they can't churn these suckers out. Actually, what I truly don't understand is why a retailer can't have a fulfillment list with online tracking that lets people who want a Wii sign up and get one EVENTUALLY. At least having some hope would soothe tempers a bit.

PS Wii Sports is a blast. Legend of Zelda is cool too, but just a warmed-over Gamecube title, not something that uses the Wii's capabilities to the max. Still waiting on my component cable to ship too.

Frankly, I'm waiting for the different colors to come out, and by that time, I'm sure there would be a larger catalogue of games to choose from, instead of just playing and then waiting for the next one...even though the fact that i don't have one is rippin my heart out!!

In the little town where I live, it is still IMPOSSIBLE to find a Wii. It's outrageous.

Want to know what else it outrageous?

The ACCESSORIES are impossible to find too. And as I said, I don't live in a big city or anything.

So.. my theory is that there is some bastard living around here that just has to buy every single Wii system and accessory that comes in stock in this town, only for the purpose of pissing people off.

Meh, I gotta let out my rage on somebody..

I really feel for those who still can't find a Wii. I know you all have heard this, but you just get lucky eventually. Just don't give up and call around!

Unfortunately I am really game-hungry since I beat Twilight Princess, which was the best game I've ever played! Waiting for some newer games...

I got my Wii a month ago and I stood in line for 4 hours at Target and was the last one to get a ticket. Wii Sports is the staple at my house and we have a bunch of different games. Tiger Woods golf is great the Graphics could be better, but the controls are amazing. I don;t understand why people are complaining about putting? I can putt just fine.

I live in a town with a population of about 15K. Only a very small percentage of this town are even gamers. Somehow, though, despite the stores getting a steady flow of Wiis restocked (I've checked, but usually just barely too late), the things still sell like mad around here. So I still don't have one. If I don't get one soon, I'll probably just start a crappy blog with a paypal donate link and hit up complete strangers on the internet for enough money to buy one on eBay instead; with a good enough back story this might actually work.

Had mine since launch! I have 4 Wii remotes, 4 nunchucks, 1 classic controller, component cables, those protection condom/sleeve things for all 4 remotes and 1 of the nunchucks, a display stand thing that holds the system, remotes, and 7 games, and I have 8 disc-based games and 9 VC games. And I might buy Cooking Mama today to have a Cook-Off party soon.

Me and my mom waited for one on December 17th, but to no avail, some greedy families bought 2-3 systems each...and the damn management didn't even try to stop it, which pissed all of the rest of us out. Me and the other people probably would've gotten one if it wasn't for those bastards.

Anyways, I called my older brother up (he's in Florida...in the Air Force) and told him. So he told me he would look at Toys R Us site...they were selling it for like $600 with a bunch of crap games or something, I dunno. He went on Ebay and bought one for $500, and had to pay $50 for shipping...yet it was shipped US mail and took forever to get here still. I still got to play it around Christmas, now I have 5 games + Wii Sports. My games: Zelda, Excite Truck, Red Steel, Elebits(bought it used), and Sonic(my brother bought it for me) ~ The next Wii game I'll probably get is Super Paper Mario since there isn't really much out there right now.

I ended up ordering 2 Wii Remotes & 2 Nunchucks from Nintendo's online store back in January because I couldn't find them. But to no avail I havent gotten any of my family to play the Wii with me :(

BTW I play the Wii on my grandpa's HDTV with the Composite Cables that came with the Wii and the games look fine.

Anyways, for those who are still gonna wait in a store lines on Sunday's for Wii's, I wish you the best of luck. I hope the store prevents families from buying more than 1 system each. Also - if possible, you may want to try Ebay because people aren't really selling them for $500 anymore, they are selling them for like $300 ish...which is only $50 more than retail (tax on a Wii is like $20 here...so you are really only paying $30 over retail)

I wish you guys luck! I also hope we get more good games soon (besides Super Paper Mario!)

I've had mine since launch and as far as my area (Northern Kentucky) goes, there is no shortage of peripherals and I've heard that with reasonable patience and perseverance you can get one in a couple of weeks by calling around and learning the shipment dates, but I live close to Cincinnati so there are tons of stores to choose from around here.

A friend of mine who was very eager to grab one after playing it at my house finally realized her dream a week ago and found one at Toys R Us. She lives in Ohio and had a little more trouble in her area than people seem to be having in mine. She stuck to it for two months and was very glad she didn't give up.

My advice to the Wiiless:

Don't give up hope. It's definitely possible to find one and it is sooooooooo worth it when you finally succeed. And don't be angry at Nintendo - they're trying their best. Believe me, they want to sell as many as they can, but they don't run on magic - it takes time to make these wonderful little white boxes - time and plastic. I guess they just didn't realize how quickly this thing would catch on. If you want to get mad at someone, get mad at the geek who buys 5 at a time and sells them on Ebay for premium. Those jerks need to die.

The hype for getting a Wii has seemed to died down where I'm at. I got one right before Christmas (lucky at Target) and really like the system a lot. Zelda was really engaging and took me like 50 hours to beat and I've got Warioware and Wii Play as well. The learning curve for all the games I've played is really great because you can explain the simplicity of the movements so quickly to someone. I rented SSX Blur and really didn't like it, I've always had a problem with the SSX games for some reason. I'm thinking about grabbing Godfather because I loved it on PS2 and think it could be great on Wii. Peace!

I managed to get mine on December 28 just by looking around. I went to eight stores in the area (a pretty big city), and found a Target that had four in stock. I got the first one, and by the time I left the store, they were gone. I haven't seen any in stock since, but I know stores are getting shipments.

If it's all the same to everyone here, I don't want to settle for a Wii at some ridiculous premium price set by the corporations like Wal-Mart or Toys 'R Us. They should be ashamed at what they are still doing to consumers.

Contrary to popular belief, the Wii is not hard to manufacture, nor is it hard to package. There's another sinister reason why Nintendo is deliberately holding back in restocking the retailers. I have no idea whether it is to create demand, but an answer needs to be given. Their petty PR logic of caring for the consumer is now utterly transparent.

When the Wii finally becomes readily available, gamers should demand an actual reason for the insensitive way Nintendo has marketed their product the casual gamer demographic. I would go so far as to say their product should be boycotted until they actually follow through with production and cease this corporate bundling bullshit on the internet.

Got a lucky tip from a friend of mine back before Christmas that scored me one of the very few Wiis left at my local TRU. As far as games and controllers go... Accessories and games are abundant around here. From Wiimotes to Sonic and the Secret Rings. Everything is around. It may not all be at one store, but it's around.

I bet one of the reasons for the continual sell outs are those evil eBayers. The average selling price on eBay is about $350. After taxes and selling expenses, a quick and easy profit of $90 can be had for each one!

Nintendo is not creating a false shortage. They have sold over 6 million consoles in 4 months! That's way more than any other launch console. They ARE churning them out. People are just snapping them up like mad. I got 1 on launch day for me and 1 for a friend who couldn't stand in line. Since then I have gotten 2 more (for family members who tried mine on Thanksgiving) on 2 different sunday mornings by standing in line. I knew about the shipments by reading websites like this one. They are not impossible to get. With a little research and about an hour in line at target or bestbuy, you could have one in the next week or two. Sure, you can't just want into a store and grab one. That sucks. But it's not on purpose. Anyone who thinks Nintendo or the stores are not selling these as fast as they can are being foolish. This is just a phenomenon right now. Theres no two ways about it.

In regard of controllers, we can barely find a Wii Play plus Wiimote, and there's no clue about nunchucks.

Note to who's trying to find a PS3, too: You can find a lot of PS3 here. Today was 2nd day since launch, and at 21:00h there was plenty of them on the shelves.

This talk of false shortage is utter nonsense. Think about it. Corporations like Sony create false shortages to make demand, but in this case demand is already there, and it is there in a big way. Theres no way nintendo or any retailer would miss out on the mounds of cash created by this phenomena. They are getting them out as fast as they can, believe me, you just have to be a little patient and call around. It sucks, but in the end, you appreciate it.

I attained my Wii on launch day, and after stepping over the corpses of those who opposed me, I had a crazy-go-super happy fun time, for a few weeks... Zelda lasted that long, after that Warioware brought the Wii back for me for a week or two. Only the legendary Nintengods of lore will bring the Wii's fallen soul back to fight again, MP3, SMG, SSBB. Only Super Paper Mario can stand in the face of the evil one until the hour of awesome has come. I hope it's enough...
Back on subject, I had trouble getting Wii Play with the controller(the only reason I got it). I had to order it offline.

This is nothing short of criminal and pure greed. Its a none stop cycle and as long as people are stupid enough to spend 400 and up for a 250 system, the criminals will be getting tipped off by store employees when the wii's come in and they will all be making money from idiots buying them on ebay. Nobody cares that they are doing this. 4 months they been doing this and no end. ebay should stop selling new wii's for a month. one guy had 20 for sale, thats BS!!

Perhaps Nintendo is having trouble finding a reliable source for the duct tape they are using. They certainly have plenty of Gamecubes to to tape together. So, it's got to be the tape, right?

No, really. I got laughed at by family and friends for waiting in line on launch day. Now, I'm laughing at them for not being able to find one, and after trying mine over the holidays they ALL want one.

Love my Wii. Feel sorry for those who want one, but can't seem to get their hands on one. Hopefully the situation will resolve itself before too many people get bitter from the hunt.

I live in a large city (Toronto) and i've had pretty brutal luck when it comes to getting all things wii.

I have had absolutely ZERO luck getting something as simple as a second nunchuck (the missus is dying to whoop my a$$ at boxing) and games are few and far between (any moderately successful game is out of stock the instant it's placed back on the shelf.) -i.e. I have never physically seen a copy of 'wii play' for the reason that everyone wants the free controller-

Even getting something as simple as a Wii Points card has been an ordeal. I'm DYING to play Super Mario Bros. 1 on my Sharp Aquos.....

I will have to pick up Paper Mario when it comes out though... and it looks like the games in the pipeline are A LOT better then what we've seen so far.
