Target stores have a nice little sale going on this week. All games regularly priced $29.99 (here's the nice part) and above are on sale for $24. Although it is just $5 off in most cases, that's still two gallons of gas, a meal at McDonald's off the dollar menu or a nice way of saving up for the Target exclusive Peach DS lite "bling skin" at the bottom of the ad. We don't want it -- but we do.

Travis, where did you get that list? I thought it was supposed to be ALL game $29.99 and up. I was looking forward to saving $16 on Final Fantasy III...

Travis is mistaken; FF III *is* on sale for $24. Just got back from Target and saw it tagged as such.

Just wait awhile and you'll be able to buy all these for $50 on the Wii.

I just went to the Target website and wrote down every game that said "on sale - $24"
Sadly, FF3's price remains the same. Maybe if you take the ad into the store (they also have tons there) they'll eat their own words and give you that price.

Hey Fatass of Kickassness, sorry you don't like the truth. That's the real genius of Nintendo. Get people to pay $30 for a handheld game and then port it to the console and sell it for $20 more. IT'S A REVOLUTION!!!!

Gavin speaks the truth. It's funny because Sony does the same thing with the PSP to PS2 and PS2 to PSP. If microsoft had a handheld they would milk the franchises too. Portable Halo anyone? That would be......terrible. But I'd buy it.

Tis true about the handhelds, the real genius behind the them is the ability to make a game that is many times cheaper (and many time shorter) than it's console counterpart. I don't think I've ever seen a PSP or GB game that was really successful that wasn't a port.
*Waits for someone to prove him wrong* I give it about 5 minutes...

Well, a couple minutes slow, but oh well. My real point here is that handhelds generally don't make their own successful games; they generally rely on their parent console to supply them with a damn good title to bastardize to a tiny version.
There are exceptions to this rule as Durinthal kindly pointed out.

It is, in fact, a full week ad. Likewise, all games scanning at 29.99 and up will receive the discount. Which means, yes, FFIII is $24.
I just got back with Phoenix Wright 2 and Custom Robo Arena (I'm really hoping for a decent story this time, but not counting on it).

Awesome, I just scored Master of Disguise, Squeak Squad, FFIII, and Yoshi's Island. They were sold out of a good chunk of games and I managed to grab the last FFIII. If you're going to take advantage of this offer I advise you to do it ASAP, as the aisle was pretty crowded when I got there..

Damn. And I was thinking about buying a Wii game this week. I guess I'm picking up at least FF3 tomorrow. I'm not sure what else I'm getting yet.

After browsing through the Target ad online and Metacritic, I think I might be getting FF3, Partners in Time, Hotel Dusk, and Contact in the morning.

@31 at least you can have a meth lab out there without really having to worry about getting caught, how far is the nearest neighbor? or you can convert your garage to a grow room, being out there in the middle of nowhere and all. ;)
