Okay, okay, so the number in the subject line is an estimate from a source whose reliability is not unquestionable (Sony), but if it's true, we could go ahead and call that a decent success. In addition to claiming Australian PlayStation 3 sales hover around 20,000, Sony claims that sales from the region add up to $25 million over the course of three days (Australian currency, most likely). Someone figured that would equate to about 2 games per console, along with the purchase of accessories (like the "mandatory" memory card adaptor... still waiting for an update to reverse the copy procedure, Sony!).The sales figures are being released tomorrow, so we'll search around for them then -- do you guys think this is an accurate assumption/report on Sony's part? Is it another attempt to delude people into believing they're successful? Is the PS3 actually performing as well or better than we should expect, but the hype and talk over the internet downplays successes, despite how minor? Many questions for you to answer in a comment! Let us know!
[Thanks again, Matt!]
