Shivering Isles now on Xbox Live -- grab it before the downtime
Just in time to grab before the scheduled maintenance tomorrow morning, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion expansion Shivering Isles is now available for download at the price of 2400 MS points (US $30). The expansion, just under one gigabyte in size (approximately 993.75 MB), promises 30 hours of gameplay. The game was originally scheduled tomorrow, but "the team" (they're related to the "Top Men" we always hear about) were able to get the game up early. The 14-hour downtime is scheduled for 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, so go ahead and grab it if you want to get through a good chunk of the game tomorrow.

Hmm, it is sad that Bethesda haven't actually considered digital distribution for the PC version of that.
Oh well, I had it already preordered anyway, but still...

Does $30=30hours? Could they have just made a new game?
blamecanada @ Mar 26th 2007 9:44PM
Many games $60 = 30 hours so I wouldn't complain if I were you.

Anybody know if the expansion includes the patch? Bethesda said that they were releasing a update to have the 360 version have the same new enhancements as the ps3.

@2:
Considering the amount of time and effort Bethesda put into the original Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, I would have to say.. NO.

Yes it does. I just downloaded the expansion off of Xbox Live. When I started up Oblivion, it forced me to patch the game before I could play.
So far, the game does run much smoother(at least so far), but there still is the rare minor chop.

Ummm... I'm looking at the downloads for Oblivion right now....
Either I'm blind as a bat, or it isn't up there.

Isn't it $20 for the PC version? I love my 360, but why does my wallet feel violated lately?
Forceusr @ Mar 26th 2007 11:19PM
If you load the Oblivion disc, go to Options, then Downloads, then View Available Content, it will take you to the download page on XBLM.

I've completely forgotten how to repair magic armor.
Wow, I shouldn't have stopped playing for 8 months. I can't even remember why I stopped- this is so much freaking fun.

Shivering Isles is simply incredible. The best thing to happen to Oblivion ever.
Too bad for the PS3 owners...no expansion for you.

It's $30 for the PC version. You're getting the same deal everyone else is.
Well, except for the PS3 owners, that is. NO SHIVERING ISLES FOR YOU!!!

NO COOKIE FOR YOU!

They lie. You can't possibly fit 30 hours of gameplay into 1 gig. You absolutely need Blu-ray for that!
