First they love the Wii and now they hate it, but the funny thing is that the Wii will keep narrowing the lead to first place no matter what they say.

What happened to Wii60? Cmon, Microsoft, are you really that scared of Nintendo that you have to revert to the kiddie argument?

I'm 21. I own a Wii and a 360. I own 6 360 games and 6 Wii games, but have had the 360 for about twice as long. I play the Wii 90% of my gaming time, with the last ten percent being spread between the 360 (especially Crackdown) and the PS2 (Guitar Hero 2, mainly).

I'm a gamer. I can enjoy God of War 2, Gears of War, Guitar Hero, Wii Sports, SSX Blur, and Paper Mario all within the same week.

Saying Wii is only for people under 14 is like saying PS3 is only for BluRay watchers (hmmm) and 360 is only for XBOX LIVE, profanity-screaming pubescent. Each holds a certain bit of truth, but is VERY far from categorizing the player demographic.

Whereas, everyone I know who has a Wii is 18 or older.

I want a Wii and I am 25. It appears that there are simple and complex games on the Wii.

I want a job as "group product manager for the Xbox platform and Xbox Live" so I can randomly give baseless opinions to support the product. Facts are hard. I don't like dealing with them. This job would be perfect for me :)

Transfer files from your old Xbox 360 to your "elite" Xbox 360 and they automatically get deleted (bookmark this thread) This alone, proves that Microsoft is for thieves... or treats you like a thieves.

^Now you see how stupid that argument is? Go to the corner of the room and face the wall.

Well the problem is Rare keeps on making great games for the Xbox 360, but Microsoft choses not to promote it. I played Kameo and although it was short, I thought it was a really fun title. And during this holiday season when Viva Pinata came out, it seemed as if they didn't care about it, as they kept on putting their marketing muscle behind Gears of War.

Seriously, I did not seen a single mention of the title outside of the internet. I never saw a TV commercial for it, and I never met anybody in real life who actually played it. Microsoft has been taking big steps with the Xbox 360 but sometimes it just seems like they want to rest on their laurels.
Halo 3 2007. Halo Wars 2008. Probably Gears of War 2 2009. While I appreciate what they are doing with the actual system itself(movie downloads, IPTV, XBLA), they really are lacking on pushing innovation for the games themselves.

Even if you know that you can't take the kid market from Nintendo, it doesn't mean every title needs to be a fucking shooter. My schools Sci-Fi and Comic Club(re:Nerds), don't care about the 360 because they are into Japanese adventure and RPG's. Yes, Microsoft is coming out with Blue Dragon but I bet they will barely promote it here. Even their upcoming innovative titles like Bioshock or Mass Effect are still shooters.. I mean jeez even Sony got some good press for LittleBigPlanet.

Like they say, even a broken clock is right twice a day and I think Optimus has finally hit 12:00. I thought the Shane Kim statement was ridiculous until reading Prime's comment. They really do treat you like a kid with those damn friend codes.

Why not use friend codes on machines with Parental Control turned on only? Let us adults connect the easy way.

I love nintendo, always have and most likely always will. But I really don't see Microsoft trying to "diss" the wii with the statement. Microsoft is just saying that for the most part, the more "mature" titles come up for the 360 and not the Wii. And the Wii is generally conceived to be the "kiddy-er" system of the two.

I believe that this is already obvious (note that mature does not mean better or more grown up, just more violent) no matter where your loyalties lie.

Now with the "trade-in your wii if your 14 or older" crap, i gotta side with the wiiboys and laugh a little at that statement. I'm 19 and i play my brothers wii all the time.

Yes, true, MS target audience is definitely in the 12-16 year old bracket, the age where they get on Xbox Live to call people faggots and scream at their mom for their "fucking chocolate milk". Sorta like Optimus Prime! As soon as those kids grow out of puberty they're all over Nintendo again.

You know, sometimes I wish the 360 had a friend code system. Sure, it is clunky, but I know I'd not have to delete 5 to 7 "Hey, I'm a girl from [insert city here, usually New York] and I play games. Let's play [insert game you recently played] online together." I know what girls are, hooray for you being a member of half the population. Go bother someone else. I sort of have to agree here. Don't get me wrong, I love my Wii and that's the only newer gen console I own. But the games just aren't as cool as those on the PS2 or 360 (ps3 is not even an option in my eyes). This is the very reason why I never bought into the gamecube.

If the Wii doesn't come out with better games and a decent online strategy soon I may bore of it entirely and Ebay it.

I waited 2 1/2 hours in line a couple weeks ago at the Nintendo store in NYC to get a Wii. For the first few days I was loving the Wii and thought it was the greatest thing ever. Then I realized the whole experience was sort of hollow and went back to playing the 360.

Microsoft is going to crush Nintendo this gen. Sorry, Nintendo fanboys, but that feeling in your stomach is you knowing that is true.

Well, since this strategy seemed to work with the first xbox vs. gamecube, I guess it was only a matter of time before they played this card. Especially considering how they are getting punked by the Wii.

The only people that care about how adult a game is instead of how fun they are, are 14yo children.

Microsoft should worry about the PS2 since the 360 hasn't even been able to outsell that in any given quarter, including last Dec.

I sold my wii on ebay. I beat zelda, rented a ton of the other games and no longer had a reason to keep it. Its a neat system, there just arent any games out or on the horizon that are any good. Seems like all the games are dumbed down to work with the remote. I'd rather use a controller and get a better experience. Felt to me like it was another virtual boy, minus the nausea.

I'm 20 and didn't get a Wii because I didn't perceive the value in re-buying which is essentially a Gamecube with a new controller. It's nice and all, that little waggle-wiggle-wooo, but after about 45 minutes its very boring. Sure HD graphics aren't everything but they help create a tantalizing experience if say for instants the developers have a strong art direction. I for one love when everything comes together, that is graphics, gameplay, and sound. I dislike when one aspect of games is left out which to ME seems to be the case with many of the games that are beginning to flood the Wii (basically crappy, most likely scrapped PS2 games that are now being modified to play on the Wii). With that being said I recieved an EGM in the mail (the one with the interview with Peter Moore) and one of the stories revolved around the Wii lineup and it looked very bad. Here were some of the games.

Cooking Mama: Cook Off April 2007
Tamagotchi: Party On! Spring 2007
Dewy's Adventure Fall 2007
Super Paper Mario April 2007
DDR: Hottest Party Summer 2007
Alien Syndrome Summer 2007
Heatseekers April 2007
Escape from Bug Island May 2007
My Sims Summer 2007
Marty Party 8 Spring 2007
Space Station Tycoon Summer 2007
The Godfather: BH Edition April 2007
Driver: Parallel Lines April 2007
MK Armageddon April 2007
Price of Persia: RS March 2007
Scarface: TWIY Spring 2007

Besides obviously Super Paper Mario and maybe Space Station Tycoon and My Sims I don't see anything on this list that seems "Standout". Many of them look like the developers weren't even concerned about producing a quality title, but rather more concerned about making a quick buck.

And no I'm not a PS3 Fanboy, I game with the 360, but when I see lists like this it makes me wonder if the Wii is really all its cracked up to be or whether this whole thing is just some of conspiracy.

Yeah, I have to say, Microsoft, you have to have sunken pretty low to return to the "kiddie" argument. And really, it makes no sense. What you're essentially saying is that, since Nintendo doesn't publish many gory, violent, gun-filled games, their only audience is for 14 and under kids.

Well I have to laugh at Microsoft and say, well sorry Mario isn't cussing and running around blowing Koopas' heads off and sliting Bowser's throat. What do you want Nintendo to do? No one wants Gran Theft Zelda: Mushroom Kingdom ever coming out, nor do they want an M rated Smash Bros with characters' bodies buring intoa cinder from Mario's fireballs.

Just stop banging on Nintendo, and start worrying about your sales prices, which btw are being beat by the Wii. So fine, call me a "kiddie" gamer if it pleases you, but it'll just make you purely biased and make it obvious that you have not played these "kiddie games" from very long.

Opinions, opinions. Personally, my roommates and I have probably played for a combined 450 hours since launch, and the "waggle-wiggle" is not "very boring" at all. The Wii may appeal to you, it may not. I very much prefer the motion control of the Wii. The PS3 motion control feels extremely tacked on and I can't stand missing rumble. The 360's control is great for a traditional pad, but it feels very confining after you get used to spreading your hands apart with the Wii's two-part controller.

Of course, these are just my opinions, but I HAVE played the Wii for a **little** more than 45 minutes ;)
