The SNES edition of Final Fight, while technically impressive for its time, goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to killing the magic. Not only did Final Fight on the SNES drop the two-player action that made it a hit in the first place, but also the red-clothed karate champ, Guy. Sure, you're playing it for Haggar anyways, but do you really want to be stuck with Cody? You also get a dose of censorship as everyone's favorite video game transsexual, Poison, is nowhere to be found.
Street Fighter II Turbo (or Hyper Fighting as us humans call it) isn't that bad, but smaller sprites, a lack of online play and limited controller options on the Wii make it a hard sell. We love us some Zangief, but we don't see us pulling off our favorite combos on the classic controller.

Arcade versions of SFII Standard & Hyper, Final Fight, Ghosts & Goblins, Ghouls & Ghosts, & Super Ghouls & Ghosts. Many others too, but these are the cream of the crop.

Like OMG, Lord Of The Rings was so unrealistic! I mean, that Goalie guy, he wasn't even human, there's no such thing as those. And the talking trees....so not real! Like totally!
I mean seriously, what gave away the fact that 300 wasn't real? The hunchback guy? The goat head dude that was sitting on the throne in Xerxes castle? The monster that the Persian army used? Or was it the CGI werewolf with the glowing eyes?

It's not like it can be THAT much bigger than the SNES version, right?
Also, the Classic Controller needs a redesign to look more like the 6 button Saturn controller ASAP!

Capcom lost all rights to Marvel, those games you mentioned are now into the abyss of copyright hell. Where they will burn for etenity and never be seen again.

And how is Poison a transsexual?

Besides Activision having the rights to Marvel right now, none of those "Vs" games came out on a Nintendo system. Which is exactly why the lame ass SNES versions of Final Fight and Street Fighter are coming to the VC. What Capcom/Nintendo should do is put the Sega CD version of Final Fight on VC, so they could include Guy.

Don't forgot the massive tear that came out of his eyes after you wrecked that guys car.

Oh, and the SNES version of Final Fight is an abomination and a disgrace to the gaming community. No, humanity at large.

I was so addicted to the game after getting shafted with that hunk of shit, I went out and got the Sega CD version.

And you can dislike 300 for being unrealistic because it, unlike Lord of the Rings, is based on things that really happened. Very very loosely based. I mean, a Spartan making fun of Athens for having sex with boys? Who were they kidding? That was rampant all over Greece at the time. You know all 300 of those dudes had boinked each other's sons and nephews after training sessions.

I remember playing one of these SNES versions at college years and years ago. My neighbor was a great Street Figher player but I could beat him by doing continuous footsweeps. It was fun to make my guy (Ryu? Ken? I forget) throw a blue puff and shout "Hoe-oooh-sh*t!" but cheap winning was even more rewarding. He used to get so mad!

I remember something about Guy being removed because of the cart size at the time (animations, character art). Apparently they even altered a whole stage from the arcade version for the same reason. He was my favorite character in the game too so I was really dissapointed when it came out on the SNES and I worked at Nintendo at the time so I had to act all excited about it.
So I wonder if there will be a a Guy version on the VC also? :)
[From Wikipedia.org]
Final Fight Guy
A second SNES version of the game, titled Final Fight Guy, was released on March 20, 1992 in Japan. This version remained a Japanese-only release for a while until June 1994, in which Capcom released it in North America as a rental-only release. As the title implies, Capcom addressed one of the more common complaints of the first version by bringing back Guy as a playable character. However, they did so by removing Cody from the game.

Yeah, the VC games need to go to a case-by-case basis for arcade releases. I'm happy to play the home version of Contra, but I want arcade-perfect ports of Final Fight and SFII Turbo.
