In approximately ten minutes time, the Grand Theft Auto IV trailer will finally be live. After a month-long teaser site, hours of late-night advertising on FX, ongoing corporate drama, lawsuits, technical specs, multiplatform tattoos, console-exclusive content, more console-exclusive content, and OMG MEGATON misfires, it's about to be over.

Of course, we already know how to make a GTA trailer. Let's see how close Rockstar gets.

Yeah I haven't had any luck with it just yet. The server seems to have crashed. I knew disappointment would be inevitable. I should have just gone to bed, rested and got better :(

yeah I dont understand. If your companies servers cant handle the bandwidth load, why bother hosting it? Just upload and send it out around the net. Hell even use bit torrent to distribute it. Would be WAY faster.

I saw the trailer. It's just a bunch of shots of the city with music, and then this guy says something. It'll be on YouTube soon enough.

There's supposed to be an HD Xbox Live Marketplace version of the same video up soon.

But when you see the guy and the city and hear what he says you're like "Oh damn, they went there." Jack Thompson is rolling in his grave.

Agreed. I was expecting slow, but this is ridiculous. They should have known they were going to get hammered, and planned accordingly.

Anyways, can anyone get the trailer to work? I get to the site and I can see the window where it would be playing, but it just stops trying to load after 30 seconds or so.

The gfx look very pretty. Takes place in a new york-esque city. And it seems that you'll play as a russian (or something) immigrant.

I'm downloading from GameTrailers. It's slow (28K per sec), but at least the HD version will be on my laptop in 40 min.

matt: I am gay, so I suppose you're right that it was a bit self righteous. I've been fighting heterosexism for about 8 years, not every campaign we run people agree with. I still don't apologize for the comment however, I felt the meaning was quite clear.
