Europe gets Punch Out, other virtual console classics first
OK, we're used to Japan getting cool stuff before us. That's OK -- they saved the game industry after Atari botched things up, so it's only fair that they get Final Fantasy and Gundam games early. But now we hear that Europe is getting Virtual Console games like Punch Out, Legend of the Mystical Ninja and Dragon Curse before us red-blooded Americans. Doesn't Nintendo know that Europe is supposed to get everything last? Maybe they can take some pointers from Sony on that score.I suppose we shouldn't be too mad about this, since all these games have been available for other systems for over a decade. But it's the principle of the thing. We declared our independence from European mastery back in 1776, and yet those old-worlders still get to lord their downloadable classics over us hundreds of years later. It's just not right!

32_Footsteps @ Mar 30th 2007 4:34PM
Oh, you newbies. There are some of us who have been complaining about select European releases for years now. Like the fact that Europe got Vib Ribbon and we didn't. I think one of the Parodius games also managed to sneak out there.
Rubang B @ Mar 30th 2007 4:38PM
Japan's had Legend of the Mystical Ninja (aka Ganbare Goemon: Yukihime Kyuushutsu Emaki) since the 13th. We need it bad, almost as much as Super Donkey Kong.
nath225 @ Mar 31st 2007 6:55AM
Quit your sarcastic bitching, we (Europe) never get the sensation of how it feels to get something first. :P
Rubang B @ Mar 30th 2007 4:42PM
Whoa, but Japan doesn't have Punch-Out or Dragon's Curse yet! Europe even beat Japan!
THIS IS MADNESS!
And apparently Dragon's Curse is also known as Wonder Boy III OR Monster World II. ::head spins:: This is even better than Jackie Chan's Police Story 3 Part II.
RD @ Mar 30th 2007 4:44PM
It appears they also got Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before us, as well. I'd like to play that game again.
Mr Khan @ Mar 30th 2007 4:48PM
Not so much madness

Official Nintendo site has a confirmed date of June, for Australia

If you're in Europe, that's not true. I downloaded Link to the Past last week when it came out.
Hurry to your Wii and do so, too. :)

Doesn't Nintendo know that Europe is supposed to get everything last?
and again
Rubang B @ Mar 30th 2007 5:23PM
There can only be one reason Australia is getting Strikers: Charged before me. Hot Aussie Hookers. Hey, I read it on Joystiq the other day.
If that means Australia goes online before we do, I'm moving. I need wi-fi Strikers and prostitutes bad. Ooh, wi-fi prostitutes: Charged.
@Kye, heh, no problem. I figured it'd be better to send too many than not enough, so you could have the option to weed out all the weirdos or keep 'em.
ALH @ Mar 30th 2007 5:34PM
oh stop moaning, we STILL dont have trauma centre or elebits :(
JodyAnthony @ Mar 30th 2007 5:45PM
you mean eledees (lolz)
Rubang B @ Mar 30th 2007 5:59PM
Wow. I got both of those in December. I'm sorry. I take it back. You can have your Strikers before me. ::cringes in pain::
Chad @ Mar 31st 2007 2:54AM
and in Europe we don't even have a release date for Super Paper Mario. Trade ya!?
meist3r @ Mar 31st 2007 4:45AM
I'd swap all my excess download options on VC for an appreance of an Elebits(Eledees)/Cooking Mama/Trauma Center disc. Anyone wanna trade? It's not really an advantage getting all the (imho mostly lame+overpriced) old-games first and still have to wait for something decent to actually use the Wiimote for.
And btw. it's historically proven that Europe used to have some things first: crappy leaders, slavery, genocide, religious wars, civil war, cars, fries (you get one point for taters though), milk-chocolate -add more great european inventions here-. You got all the BS: phone, light bulb, nuclear bomb, bootlegged booze. A divided effort goes to: electricity, world wars, capitalism and the pr0n industry.

At last. Thank GOD for Nintendo. They actually care about Europe. They gave us a worldwide launch, they gave us Donkey Kong Country, and now we're getting things first.
The DS has definantly shown the way. 10M sales in Europe. Europe kicks butt!
