More English Training (necessary) on DS
The sequel to last year's successful Eigo ga Nigate na Otona no DS Training (translation: DS Training for Adults who Struggle with English) has just been released in Japan. Nintendo is promoting More English Training, the new title, with a TV ad campaign that shows how dangerous it can be to keep on saying "yes." You could end up with a mega-deluxe-super-whopper, or worse. Click for the clip. (And for this story in reverse, don't forget to level-up your Japanese!)

"Would you like to go home with me and have some wild crazy sex?" ... Yes... "Let's go!"

One of my dear friends is a Japanese lady who looks just like the lady in the ad.
She is absolutely scary when it comes to eating out at one of our good old fashion all you can eat buffets, eating several large plates of food at one dinner. Some of the heavier customers were shocked. Hell, even I was shocked.
You think you eat a lot? You probably don't.
(I guess all those anime girls chowing down food are on to something. :x )

Bluebreaker, there must be some ancient technique they have...
Because Asian people seem to win most, if not all, of the eating competitions. It's amazing. You'd think the big, fat, white people would have the bigger appetites, but it is the small, skinny, Asian people that win these...
Emperor Samoth wins three and three-fourths Internets.

This looks like Reiko Asakawa from the ring movies. In fact it probably is her.

I have done this .... only in reverse.

Oh Nanako... you're still so hot.
And a kanji/hiragana/katakana trainer is a no-brainer great idea. I just need a DS-X first.

Most of us who don't read manga (and never would, because it's homogeneous, mass-marketed crap) will likely never need to learn kanji/hiragana/katakana. It's hard enough to learn to understand a few Japanese words and phrases when you're an English speaker, but learning the intricacies of their multiple written languages for- at most- a vacation in Japan some day is silly.
And if you read that much manga, I pity you. Your brain must resemble tentacle-raped tapioca by now.

There's the fat belt theory. Basically fat people have a huge belt of fat that keeps their stomach from expanding so they are limited to how much they eat though still higher than average. Since those Asians are skinny they aren't hindered from the fat belt. Still doesn't really explain how Asians don't look like they gain any weight...

Indeed, Nanako still makes the screen sizzle every time she appears on TV
