Halo machinima series Red vs. Blue to conclude with hundredth episode
At first glance it may look like an April Fool's joke (hey, so did the closing of The GIA), but it seems as though the war of Blood Gulch really will be coming to an end. Burnie Burns of Rooster Teeth announced on their forum two nights ago that their infamous Red vs. Blue series of Halo machinima will be concluding with its landmark one-hundredth episode. The series that for the past four years has made it worth living through the weekend, brought the concept of machinima to the masses, as well as gave a wildly different perspective of the Halo universe.
With six episodes left to go, the folks behind the Blood Gulch Chronicles are busy wrapping up all the loose ends for the finale but took the time to thank their shisno fans. Beyond RvB, Rooster Teeth has been involved with numerous commercial projects in the past few years, including a television ad for last year's Madden. For introducing us to "The Puma," human-to-robot surgery, and girlie laps, we salute you.

They cut their teeth (pun) on this, and it shows, but they are definately a talented group, and it will be nice to see them move on to something a little more fresh. Good luck guys.

Hmm, so will Halo 3 be out by then? Or at least the demo? This may be the end of the Halo 2 Red v. Blue, but it also may usher in content from the newest Halo iteration.

so does anybody know where to find the RoosterTeeth fake commercial for Madden that pokes fun at Dallas Clark (TE for the Colts)? ive seen it once and then boom it is gone from everywhere. it was so hilarious!

Never liked RvB, but props to these guys since they did something that caught on.

You know what this means? It's all fair game for Halo 3 machinima. Sure, there's This Spartan Life and a few other semi-popular Halo machinimas still around, but this was the big one. With Red vs. Blue out of the way, what machinima will rise to the top with Halo 3? Sad to see the series going, although it was lacking in later episodes.

I am a fan of Halo but this series is not the least bit funny. I actually find it interesting they'd make a series using Halo but it has some really lame episodes...just my opinion.

#3 - I was wondering the same thing. Even their blog post about the subject has gone missing. Luckily, that post is the one blog I ever bothered to actually post directly into mine, due to how awesome it was.

btw isn't the date of the forum post april first? Why would they quit now right when get the deal with bungie for halo 3? Means big $ for them and I can hardly see them passing that up just because they feel like quitting.
i don't understand why they would quit when they are doing so well.

In the post they say they are ending the Blood Gulch Chronicles so they may have more like a spin off placed some where else. Or they could be making a Halo Movie for Bungie/MS... I think they would make the best Halo Movie. Or I could just be in denial... :(

This is sort of important. It says that "The Blood Gulch Chronicles" will end. Also, in one of the jornals, they said that they would have a new project. I thought it was interesting they said, the blood gulch chronicles, not RvB. This means, we will get somthing from another game, or a brand new storylined halo minichima from Rooster teeth.
dixonij @ Apr 3rd 2007 5:43PM
This isn't the end of Red Vs. Blue. If you guys pay close attention to the posts Burnie has made, he has only said it is the end of The Blood Gulch Chronicles. That leaves the door wide open for a new aspect of RvB to come along in the future.
Taken from the forum post:
"That's why we wanted to let you all know first that Episode 100 is going to be the last installment of The Blood Gulch Chronicles. One hundred is a great number, and it seems like the perfect place to call it a show."
Intentless @ Apr 3rd 2007 5:52PM
Denial... But cool anyway... sigh... Halo Movie...
Shmil @ Apr 3rd 2007 5:52PM
Well, in Halo:CE it was called blood gulch
in Halo 2 it was coagulation
so this is about the time of year when they take their break betweeen seasons for RvB:BGC
so when halo 3 busts out i'm sure there'll be a new chronicle for the reds and the blues

*sigh*....all things must come to an end. 100 episodes is a great run for a show, especially for one thats on the internet, which was made inteded for porn and music. This series has taught myself and many others things that will continue to be with us for the rest of our lives, such as; "woman are like voltron...the more you hook up, the better it gets." They have also given us great advice, like on getting tattos or how to prepare for the internet and how its compared to real life. You see, even though most of you will find the series to be stupid or to have no point. This show has paved the way for others to come. Who knows, maybe someone will be inspired by RvB to make the next Simpsons or Family Guy. I have given an hour or so of my saturday for the past 4 years to the guys at Rooster Teeth, and I wouldn't change a thing about any of it. So for now, I will continue to enjoy the last episodes and hope that one day, something else will take up the one hour of time every saturday. I would like to take the time to thank everyone that has worked on the series since the begining; Gus, Geoff, Matt, Jason, Joel, Dan, Burnie, Damien, Jordan, Kathleen and Yomary. You will all be missed in the canyons of blood gulch.
P.S.
Red Sucks!!!

Congratulations on the 100th episode of Red vs. Blue. Here's to reaching the next milestone.
Falkenad @ Apr 5th 2007 2:35AM
It's classic stuff to watch with your friends or just when it feels so good to kill some time. Faretheewell, Red versus Blue.
Church @ Apr 18th 2007 11:36PM
I love RVB The funny lines the way they got the plot going from nothing to something and of course the endless cussing at Tucker from church I cant wait for the last 5 episodes and if they do continue after that with a new RVB then I will leap in joy. I also agree they should make a movie I mean if people can make a Aqua team hunger force movie then they could really make a RVB movie.
Hatchetforce @ Jun 26th 2007 9:17PM
I am a RvB subscriber and they have definitely furnished us with tons of hilarity. We had a RvB weekend recently at a HALO2 lanfest and 48 of us laughed through several hours of their escapades. On the eve of the biggest HALO title yet, the guys and girls from Rooster Teeth will be sorely missed.
