PSP price cut U.S. only, includes Entertainment Pack
So, you want to buy the PSP, only have $220 and you're a big fan of Lords of Dogtown. Well, you're in luck! The PSP Entertainment Pack, which includes the UMD skate film, a 1 GB memory stick and ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails, has received the same $30 price cut as its little brother, the $169.99 Core Pack. But let's say that you want to buy the PSP, but you live in Europe. In that case, Sony has told GamesIndustry.biz that you're out of luck, as there's no European price cut at the moment.
Yikes, Europe. Sony's retaliation for this little stunt was pretty swift and terrible, huh? This seems a little harsh, did you do something else to upset them? Just remember this lesson: If you buy a PS3, you get a free TV and a taxi ride home. If those 100 dudes are the only ones to buy it though, you keep paying €150/£100 for your PSP.

you want to tell us where we can get £100 psps that would be a bargain theyre usually about £140
HOVA uk @ Apr 3rd 2007 7:42PM
why £100 for a PSP.. sick.. now it's the same price as the D.S..
na but seriously, Sony cant fooking afford a price-cut in EU, if it did go down in price, i'll buy it.. will be a great portable media player.

This is good. I wanted the Entertainment Pack but...I'm not sure about having two handheld systems. I love the DSlite a great deal but PSP does have some appealling games. (There's like only 4 or 5 I want but they are "system buyers" for me) And I would like to watch movies on a long road trip.
At this rate probably only Spider-Man though since UMD is tanking. :x

I barely ever play my DS and it has a huge library of good games... I can't imagine ever buying a PSP, even if it was $50...

Wow... Just wow... Why is everyone so anti-Sony now? I have seen and continue to see people with PSPs all over the place. I have only seen a few DSs out in the wild. I have both and I normally carry my PSP around, not the DS. Maybe all the DS owners are just too ashamed to show their system in public...

I think Sony should have lowered the price by 20 dollars more. Then one system would see for 150 and the other 200.

Dang, I read too fast. I thought the Entertainment Pack was also going for $169.
I'm not sure why anyone would want the Entertainment Pack though. I can pick up ATV Off Road for $20, and a 1GB Stick for $30. Oh that's right, I get Lords of Dogtown for free.....which I can buy used for $3. Thanks Sony.

too little too late if you ask me.

It seems that only a few number of stores have entertainment pack. In our area only online versions of big stores have it or maybe a few far away areas.

More proof that Sony hates Europe.

I liked Lords of Dogtown...only for America Ferrera taking off her shirt. She's taken off her pants ("Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"), what's next? Mmmmm...
I know, pathetic...

The PSP is not £100 over here. The "value pack" which is a PSP with no game and a 32MB memory stick costs £179.99, which is around $350

"Europe is the most important continent" - Phil Harrison, Sony worldwide studio boss.
Amazing, yet expectable :P

I'm no Sony fan, but damn you guys like to spin stuff. There's a big difference between:
"Sony has told GamesIndustry.biz that you're out of luck, as there's no European price cut at the moment."
and what the Sony dork said:
"We have no announcements to make about the PSP in the European market at this time."
But that's cool, prob'ly the reason I keep coming back.

anyone able to tell me how the PSP "feeds" RSS reader works?
Does it work with text news, or only video and audio podcasts? Can i use it with any sites? Can i sync it from my PC and read it on the train, or is it only for use in wi-fi hotspots?
I have no interest in the PSP for PSP games.. but for videos, news reading and PSX games it might be worth me getting one now they are cheap.
But only if i can read joystiq on the train...
