Holy God that sounds awesome. Sign me up for both -- I'll be there on release day, especially if RE:Chronicles is *not* on rails. While that would still be fun, it wouldn't be a "real" RE game without exploration and puzzle-solving.

RE4 Wii also allows you to aim and fire with the Wii remote as well as perform knife attacks.

There are also other motions for reloading, etc. and additional sounds have been added for the Wiimote's speaker.

This is, of course, all on top of the bonuse content from the PS2 version.

If you go to IGN's article on this game:
http://wii.ign.com/articles/778/778247p1.html
they make it seem like an on-rails shooter. "You have control over your path only at the occasional branch points in the stages. Everywhere else, you're on a fixed path, although you are free to look around."

I don't know if they mean that you have control over your character, but it's a very linear environment, or if you are on-rails and you can control the camera also.

@ 6

It seems that that would be the better thing to do. just give users smaller "stages" to explore. It fits in with the game because it jumps across multiple time settings

You know, I bought the GC version of RE4 for like 20 bucks and thought it was a deal, because I'd be playing one of the best-ever GameCube games. And now the Wii port is coming out soon? I'd much rather do it within the Wii using the Wiimote instead of busting out the GameCube controllers. Bah.

Should I even bother to play the GC RE4 or should I trade it in and cut my losses, using the paltry sum towards a purchase like Super Paper Mario?
