EB Games lists Super Paper Mario for the Xbox 360 - HA HA LOLZ!
Similar to the Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam for Sony Wii typo a few weeks ago, the front page of EB Games lists Super Paper Mario as an Xbox 360 game. Quick! Everyone run into the streets screaming "NINTENDO WAS BOUGHHT BAI MICRO$OFT HAHALOL!!!!1!!1"! Not only is the system listed incorrectly, but the price tag is a rather steep $89.99. Looks like the database went cross-eyed and displayed the neighboring Guitar Hero II information for both entries. Oopsies. Clicking through to the Super Paper Mario product page shows all is well behind-the-scenes.

I love when advertisers get hired to promote products they know nothing about. Hilarity ensues.
Like the promotion for the Nintendo X Box 360 ad, posted yesterday.

So when does Resistance: Gears of Metroid come out for the PSWii60?
brian @ Apr 5th 2007 10:49AM
89.99 isn't really steep, what is the correct price for a US wii games?
(i'm saying 89.99 isn't steep because that £35 in Pounds and £35 is the RRP of a wii game.
Ken @ Apr 5th 2007 10:53AM
Games are $50 here brian.
Sorry :(
Grog @ Apr 5th 2007 10:59AM
Actually, $89.99 is 45.5 pounds. 35 pounds is $69.
brian @ Apr 5th 2007 11:02AM
Oh yeah ¬_¬ dam my bad converting on money.
@4: really for a wii game? wow lucky
why not the LS2/LS7? @ Apr 5th 2007 11:12AM
Wow, another exclusive lost!!
The 360 is a monster, just seems like they're stealing everyone's next-gen exclusives.
32_Footsteps @ Apr 5th 2007 11:16AM
Apparently, they read Joystiq over at EB - it's now corrected in both price and console.
Thank mercy for screen caps.

Jake @ Apr 5th 2007 11:20AM
I can't wait to hear all the wiinies come in here and say "Paper mario sucks anyways. I already have it on Gamecube." You guys are so predictable.
RYAN @ Apr 5th 2007 11:21AM
okay, NOW i'm going to set someone on fire and blame it on Mario
Frankie @ Apr 5th 2007 11:33AM
$90.00 is too cheap for this game.
*anticipation*
Seedy @ Apr 5th 2007 11:51AM
Microsoft are so desperate that they paid someone in EB Games to do this obviously. Money couldn't make this a reality so they made it a lie instead. For shame Microsoft, for shame.
Kye @ Apr 5th 2007 11:51AM
Joystiq,
You could have put up my finding of a newspaper having a competition for a brand new PS3... only using a picture of the old, silver E3 model with the boomerang controller. This was last week Monday.
Ive got a photo, but nowhere to send it.
Jack of No Trades @ Apr 5th 2007 11:52AM
It better be a $40 game or is Nintendo not recieving enough profits already.
Ken @ Apr 5th 2007 11:52AM
No no Frankie you're supposed to say:
"$90? I wouldn't pay $9 for this last gen game."
Seedy @ Apr 5th 2007 11:59AM
What an embarrassing thing to do. Especially since the '360 couldn't handle these graphics anyway.
dark @ Apr 5th 2007 12:04PM
$89.99, yep, that sounds about right, thats the conversion from nintendo to xbox.
JodyAnthony @ Apr 5th 2007 12:25PM
I would pay $90 for this game. Been my most anticipated title since last e3.
dark @ Apr 5th 2007 12:42PM
wow, three of those games can get you a wii.
Todd @ Apr 5th 2007 12:54PM
Whoo, I look forward to this game. You won't hear any whining or complaining from me.

@Jake (12)
Did you even read the article?
kip @ Apr 5th 2007 3:58PM
Stop the presses! The mimimum wage data entry employee at EB Games made a typo! Everyone make a blog post about it, STAT!
kip @ Apr 5th 2007 3:58PM
Of course, I meant "minimum" wage.
Rubang B @ Apr 5th 2007 4:50PM
Most Wii games start at $50, but Metal Slug Anthology started at $40 and Rampage: Total Destruction started at $30, and now Super Paper Mario is $90 for the 360. I guess you play it with the new guitar from Guitar Hero 2.
Petras @ Apr 5th 2007 5:27PM
Seriously guys reporting typos in store advertisements does not make for interesting gaming news. Can't we just assume that somewhere there's a game advertisement with a typo in it we don't need to read about every single one.
CubeGuy @ Apr 6th 2007 5:37AM
Incidentally, my fellow GS workers and I played a little April Fools prank on our customers.
In front of the register, we placed three mock-up boxes for PS3 Halo 2, God of War 2 360, and Super Paper Mario 360.
No one fell for Mario, four or so people fell for GoW2, and countless people fell for Halo 2.
Everyone laughed at being pranked, and no one was mad. A few of them actually bought the games that we had out there (for the correct systems, of course).
Great fun. I wish I had the picture that the boss took. =/
