Gran Turismo HD 1.2, GTA 4 trailer to hit PS Network today

The Grand Theft Auto IV trailer is also available for download in high definition, as is the Armored Core 4 demo. Microsoft's Peter Moore, proud that Xbox Live got the GTAIV trailer up before Sony, has added yet another tattoo on his arm to add to his collection of AAA-titled inkings.
All of the content will be available free of charge and should be online sometime today.
[Update: It's the Armored Core 4 demo, not trailer, that is released today. All parties responsible for the error have been thoroughly sacked.]

360 will only get part from the full GTA4, is it right ?
Moe @ Apr 5th 2007 2:04PM
Wait don't you mean Armored core demo?
Jeff @ Apr 5th 2007 2:19PM
1up.com says "a playable demo of Armored Core 4"

"360 will only get part from the full GTA4, is it right ?"
360 will get exclusive microtransactions....
Rod Oracheski @ Apr 5th 2007 2:37PM
The 360's microtransactions are a timed exclusive, only 360-exclusive until Sony gets their crap together on their online service.
JodyAnthony @ Apr 5th 2007 2:38PM
I love how people think that the ps3 isnt going to end up with a bunch of microtransactions, too.
AKM @ Apr 5th 2007 2:41PM
So no trueHD, compressed graphics and content “rip” from 37gig to 8 gigs called …. “Exclusive microtransactions”. Then we fine :-)
nevercare @ Apr 10th 2007 11:41PM
poor sony they try so hard but in the end there losing money (ps3)
deaftly @ Apr 5th 2007 2:43PM
welcome to last week sony
Jack of No Trades @ Apr 5th 2007 2:45PM
In the end Sony will end up charging for microtransactions.
First is free because the install base is small and most games out do not use online service and eat up server space.
A: Sony will choose to have a very few online games and keep it free.
B: Sony will just keep online play to certain games.
C: Sony will make all games with online play and charge more for certain releases. Such as MGS special edition-features online play. $70 bucks.
Rod Oracheski @ Apr 5th 2007 2:52PM
I don't understand why people say Sony will make you pay one day...they've already said as much themselves. Case in point is the new Motorstorm DLC coming, they've already said that will probably be fee-based.
Just because there hasn't been any content that's been pay-to-download so far is more a sign that they're still leaving the online system as an afterthought.
It's got nothing to do with the install base being small - they just don't have the games out there and don't have the infrastructure in place for some reason. Oblivion is a great example - they'd love to have that DLC up...only there are apparently some stumbling blocks that need to be worked out.
Jack of No Trades @ Apr 5th 2007 2:52PM
I love my Sixth Grade crappy ass sentance structures.
Neal @ Apr 5th 2007 3:00PM
Someone buy my PS3. 60 GB, Resistance, NFS Carbon, Madden 07, plue extra sixaxis controller, and hdmi cable or monster component cables for 650 shipped to your house.
Jake @ Apr 5th 2007 3:00PM
For $60, you will get essentially the same game on 360 as PS3. I'm sure the 360 version will give you more options to pay extra for micro content than the PS3 version.
In the delusional mind of a Sony fanboy,
GTA4 + optional micro-content < GTA4
Some of you think that because the PS3 version will use less compression and sell less extra content it will be vastly superior. Look, Sony lost GTA months ago. It is over. Both systems have it now. People need to stop trying to say one version will blow the other away. Minor differences is all that will separate them.
losttoys @ Apr 5th 2007 3:05PM
All the arguments about macrotransactions are rather stupid, as no one has seen what RockStar will do in terms of the extra contents. RockStar has said that both consoles will have their own downloadable, exclusive content. What becomes an issue is what price each console gamer will have to pay and for how much content.
Seedy @ Apr 5th 2007 3:07PM
I think it's rather nice for the PS3 user to be able to watch movies of software they're looking forward to buying.
AKM @ Apr 5th 2007 3:17PM
“In the end Sony will end up charging for microtransactions.”
They don’t need to. Sony@Home service will generate billions of dollars when they start it and will allow them to keep online service free. The day Sony@Home will become public is a very good day to sell M$ shares (if you have any) Billy will not allow Xbox team spend any more money after “second try” failure.
shase @ Apr 5th 2007 3:10PM
have you guys forgotten that PS3 will also get exclusive GTA4 content? It may or may not be as better than the 360's. But do people really need those? I mean most are just side crap that has no effect on the story. If its to "flesh out" that means they took it out on purpose waiting for gamers to bend over.
GJM @ Apr 5th 2007 3:13PM
"360 will get exclusive microtransactions...."
Like the one I had to pay to get multiplayer on Blast Factor... ugh...
"I think it's rather nice for the PS3 user to be able to watch movies of software they're looking forward to buying."
Just like PC and 360 users. Is this a dig on the Wii? I don't get it.
AKM @ Apr 5th 2007 3:28PM
“14. For $60, you will get essentially the same game on 360 as PS3. I'm sure the 360 version will give you more options to pay extra for micro content than the PS3 version.”
Sure. Just look on Fight night Round 3. They both ported from PS2 but one for PS3 has much more future and better graphics.
On XBL you will pay for any extras which are already on BD disk. But there is no way MS let you to download 20 Gigs. You just get small part of it for extra $$. That’s “MS exclusive”.
The only nice looking game for 360 is GOW. Developers really push hardware to the limits. That’s why last play game for 30 minutes. Xbox just can’t handle next generation game. Live with it.
Sorry for my English guys.
Jason @ Apr 5th 2007 3:17PM
Let's not forget the loss of GTA exclusivity is the real nail in the coffin for Sony this time. The last 2 GTA games sold about 14.5 million worldwide (vgcharts.org) and now Xbox will get the game same-day as PS3. Add Halo 3 launching in September to that, and the SDF army will be having to give out BJ's to entice new recruits...
No change there, but anyways... How about some demo's on the PSN, Sony? You over-priced shitbox!
/and you can jam "uncompressed" textures and audio up your ass... Like that's going to make a game special. HA!
GJM @ Apr 5th 2007 3:19PM
"They don’t need to. Sony@Home service will generate billions of dollars when they start it and will allow them to keep online service free"
First of all, they already are. Secondly, Home is based around microtransactions to upgrade your "apartment", clothes, etc.
Still hungry?
Jason @ Apr 5th 2007 3:25PM
Sony fans, what are your comments on this review of the latest port of an "old" 360 game? Splinter Cell apparently can't run on the PS3 with it's memory bottleneck and complicated programming... shitbox.
http://ps3.ign.com/articles/778/778514p2.html
"Graphically, the game looks good, but falls short of the detailed display Sam saw on Xbox 360 last year. Players who ran through the paces in Microsoft-land will notice a slower framerate and the loss of a few small details (things like a smaller quantity of fights during the prison riot, different textures on character close-ups and no goggle-toggle when tossing on Sam's specs)"
ahahaaha, suck it.
AKM @ Apr 5th 2007 3:30PM
They don’t care about “microtransactions”. Advertisements will generate 99% of their profit. Sony has a different strategy. They don’t’ even trying to kill MS as competitor (with their 120.000.000 user base they don’t really have any competition). They will publicly punish XBOX and leave remaining as an “example”. They did the same with dream cast they will do it again.
GJM @ Apr 5th 2007 3:34PM
"They don’t care about “microtransactions”"
Yes they do. They ALREADY have them. I should know. I have a PS3 and have already paid a microtransaction. And again, they have specifically said that HOME is built around microtransactions. Maybe you missed this because English is not your native language?
And Jason, wow - never saw that review. That is especially sad seeing as how Double Agent runs on the Unreal Engine 2.0!
Jeff @ Apr 5th 2007 3:38PM
someone hand Jason a pacifier. what do you expect from a poor 360 port from ubisoft. you need to buy a ps3 and play some fl0w to chill down.

"Sure. Just look on Fight night Round 3. They both ported from PS2 but one for PS3 has much more future and better graphics."
Fight Night was in NO WAY at all a port from the PS2. Think before you type please.
"On XBL you will pay for any extras which are already on BD disk. But there is no way MS let you to download 20 Gigs. You just get small part of it for extra $$. That’s “MS exclusive”."
PS3 owners will also PAY for extra content. Think before you type please.
"The only nice looking game for 360 is GOW. Developers really push hardware to the limits. That’s why last play game for 30 minutes. Xbox just can’t handle next generation game. Live with it."
Dude, I am soon going to buy a PS3 and already own a 360. I say this to show I'm not a fanboy.
You = Complete retard who knows nothing and shout STFU!
Tyler @ Apr 5th 2007 3:44PM
wait..so are microtransactions a good thing or a bad thing? You people want to pay more money? Make up your @#%^ing mind
Jason @ Apr 5th 2007 3:46PM
GJM, I can play Flow for free on the PC, so screw that. I don't blame Ubisoft for not improving the game on the PS3... It's a pig to work with, and the install base is pathetic. Although you guys are dying for games :) It's no 360 or Wii success!
Jason @ Apr 5th 2007 3:48PM
Uh, not GJM, Jeff...
GJM @ Apr 5th 2007 3:50PM
Jason, I think you misunderstood me. First off, I don't know where you're going with the flOw comment. Secondly, I also own a 360 (and Double Agent) and a Wii. Perhaps knowing that, my comments will take on a different context for you?
GJM @ Apr 5th 2007 3:51PM
LOL. Now it makes sense...
Jeff @ Apr 5th 2007 3:58PM
You must excuse Jason. He's a bit frustrated from all the trolling he's been doing today.
ad @ Apr 5th 2007 4:01PM
you fanboys are the lowest of the low. scums on earth that got nothing better to do than bitch about one system being better than the other. look yourself in the mirror and think "why the hell do i keep bitching about a system that i don't own". think of consoles as cars. some people drive hummers others drive porsches.. what matters is people drives the cars they like so no point forcing the issue on them i.e. you don't tell you neighbour to drive a porsche when he alreadys owns a hummer - it's his prerogative - his free will. he ain't going to listen to you so why try to get one up on someone when they aren't prepared to listen - and in most cases he already disagrees with you.
Moe @ Apr 5th 2007 4:07PM
Jason this isn't a chat conversation. It isn't a forum either. I suggest the gamespot systemwars forum. I think you'll find a few friends there who have something in common with you. They use words like "Suck it" and resort to outdated numbers for proving their lackluster points.
primetime4 @ Apr 5th 2007 4:09PM
@ad... As long as the PS3 is the Porsche in you analogy I am fine with it because Hummers are underengineered pieces of junk much like the 360.
That was a joke.
Jason @ Apr 5th 2007 4:10PM
Alright, I caught some fishies, trolling over... Just trying to wind down the last hour of work here!
theDude @ Apr 5th 2007 4:21PM
@sheppy
Both the PS3 and the 360 will have unique exclusive downloadable content.
In order to experience the game in it's entirety will require you to buy both versions.
Jake @ Apr 5th 2007 4:26PM
akm,
I really can't respond directly to any of your posts. You are completely and totally clueless and any response would be totally lost on you, as your posts demonstrate.
Sometimes it is better to remain silent and be thought of as a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Jake @ Apr 5th 2007 4:27PM
theDude,
Yeah, but console X's will be way better. Console Y's will be a ripoff and have crappier graphics. Face it, "Y" just isn't next gen. You suck balz.
Rubang B @ Apr 5th 2007 4:36PM
AKM, saying that Sony has a 120 million userbase is like saying that Nintendo still has over 90% market share. Sony has priced themselves out of the race. If Sony could actually sell 120 million PS3s, they would go bankrupt. They lose hundreds of dollars in each one. Maybe this is why Sony isn't interested in selling them and markets them with briefcases full of money exploding.
Not only that but neither PlayStation ever hit 120 million.
theDude @ Apr 5th 2007 4:50PM
@Jake
Well, thanks for clearing that up. How's life from under the bridge?
I think that Z is really the best option this time around anyhow. It's got it all, wireless, ultra-true-maxi-HD, the greatest games ever made and the most innovative control scheme anybody has ever conceived of too. That and it's only $1. So, suxor it. You don't no you noob. tehDud ROOLZ!
JJ @ Apr 5th 2007 5:08PM
Rubang...both MS and Sony lose money on systems sold thats a given, but if they DID sell 120 million systems...why would they complain? thats 120 million potential customers!
Not only that it'd be 120 million bluray players etc etc.
and i believe that if it hasnt passed it, the PS2 is close to closing in on that 120million mark
JJ @ Apr 5th 2007 5:10PM
plus rubang, the fact that there is SOO many PS2's out there and that their still selling isnt outdated, those are still customers that buy games and send money to sony's pockets.
trust me, both MS and Nintendo would kill to have a hit system like the PS2.
so i hardly think that last gen numbers aren't applicable today since they still have an effect on the companies bottomline...unlike say Ninendo's 90% market share from 10 years ago.
Rubang B @ Apr 5th 2007 5:22PM
What I'm saying is a 110 million userbase for the PS2 does not mean shit for the potential userbase of the PS3. The reason the PS1 and PS2 sold so well is because of the casual market. Nintendo just stole it back. There are not even 110 million hardcore gamers on the planet, and most PS2 owners would walk into a store, see the price for the PS3, laugh their ass off, and then buy God of War 2 or Guitar Hero 2 for the PS2 and leave. This is why PS2 games and systems are still selling.
And I know Sony wants to sell them. I was joking. If they sold 120 million in just a year or two they probably couldn't handle it. They need to wait until it gets cheaper to produce them and keep the price high for a couple years. Or you know, sell enough games to make the money back.
Ordeith @ Apr 5th 2007 5:40PM
AKM,
Fight Night Round 3 is universally declared to be better on the 360. Almost every review give the 360 better graphics, better framerates, and better controls.
Even the BET channel had a FN3 "face off" on the 360 and PS3 and the 360 won in EVERY category for this game.
Diman @ Apr 5th 2007 10:11PM
Fanboys and their shenanigans, is there a brain in that thick skull?
