Nevermind what we all know about the Gears of War update's release date, because we may not know what we thought we knew from where we've known it. Why? Because according to 1UP, Microsoft accidentally posted all the juicy update details a little too early and promptly pulled down all the information from Gears of War's official website. A Microsoft rep told 1UP that all the details about Annex are correct, but the April 9th release date isn't set in stone. Actually, they aren't sure when it'll be released due to that lovely certification process we've all come to know and love. So, come Monday don't work yourselves up into a tizzy if the Gears update isn't released, because odds are it won't be. And for the person who was responsible for making up an arbitrary release date and getting our hopes up, we highly recommend giving them the pink slip Microsoft. There's no forgiving them for the pain they have caused.

I wouldn't be surprised if it got pushed back to Tuesday the 10th or as late as Thursday the 12th because MS harldly ever has big releases not on Tuesday or Thursday. This still saddens me greatly as I was looking forward to trying out Annex as well as the new and MUCH improved Assassination. Se la vi.

On a side note, if anyone is trying to setup wireless support on their Xbox 360 without forking over $100 for the MS Ethernet bridge, SMC makes an even better product (Bridge/Switch/Access point all in one) for 1/3 of the price. Here are the links:

Wow, bad move on there part. I hate to say it, but whoever posted that info, should get fired. You can't just go around posting stuff like that, there are millions of people out there playing the game, and if even a quarter of them heard about these, then they will be pissed. I know I am a little annoyed.
And seriously, why the hell does the certification process take so damn long?! If you have the majority of your team checking a download before it goes out, I wouldn't imagine it would take long at all.

fire the guy? I say give him a medal. Even if the date was pulled and wrong, at least we have a ball-park. Without that employee posting, we would have to put up with more useless threads in forums about people speculating on what annex is, and if its coming out before july.

The new updats for April 9th 2007, suck. I think they just ruined the online gaming for this game. Yeah, they took out the gliches, fine, but other than that, go back to the regular way. I might just have to take this game back, just because of it.
