Indie studio Digital Media Workshop has just announced an ambitious 3D sci-fi adventure titled Prominence. The game will be story-driven with multiple endings, voice acting, and a completely original soundtrack. Puzzles will be both environmental and graphical-based to put the game's pre-rendered panoramic 3D visuals to work.
Sounds like an intriguing combination of Myst and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. No screenshots or videos are available at the moment, just some concept renders and a lot of marketing hype. Without working proof that these ideas are coming to fruition, we can't help but raise an eyebrow of suspicion. It's easy to set lofty goals early in the game, especially when you're a small indie developer, but making those a reality could prove a difficult undertaking.

Sounds a bit like the old Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time:

Ah... using cheese whiz from the replicator to propel myself to the space station door. Love it.

I couldn't get into Dreamfall. I gave it multiple shots, and only made it about 2 hours each time.

The point and click adventure style gameplay, with some action sequences mixed in, might not be fore everyone. However the level of story and character development, like interacting with a good book, really sucked me in. Plus the graphics are really on par.

I know it's probably going to be a PC game, but it would rock to have a Wii version of this game. Or, for that matter, any adventure game. The combination of sitting on the couch and playing on the TV, and the pointer from the Wiimote (sorry, dpad/sticks just don't cut it) just rocks. Since they said it'll be prerendered, the graphics capacity wouldn't have any effect. Hell, Ubi could just release a binary for MystI-IV (V and Uru are real-time, I-IV are prerendered) over the Shop channel, and just have you put in your original Myst discs. I doubt Nintendo would allow that though (potential for exploits)
