Wii colored controllers and nunchucks finally coming?
Remember back before the Wii launched, and they kept touting that the console and the peripherals would be available in all sorts of different colors? Well, that rainbow never landed, and we've been a captive of White since then. However, that might be changing very soon.Go Nintendo reports that a retailer list they've seen announces the upcoming different colors for Wiimotes and nunchucks, and that they will be made available on June 29th in Europe. No mention of dates for U.S. or other territories.
Colored consoles will undoubtedly be coming around the same time, or soon after. There are only colors on the list: Silver, Blue, and Pearl Pink -- which leaves it up to you to color coordinate the best possible setup.
We'd still like to see these in jet black, like they showed off in the glass "concept" case at last year's E3. There have been skins from several third parties for both the console and the controllers, as well as an official color change to the Nintendo DS lite, although that also took awhile to get to American shores.
So, enjoy it while you can, Europe. You and your fancy colors will be the talk of the town ... for now.

Too bad I already have 4 remotes and 4 nunchucks. I couldn't wait this long and needed my 4 player nunchuck action via Red Steel, Monkey Ball, and Rayman back in November. If they release a pearl pink classic controller though, that's a different story.

but enough kidding aside, I've imported an emerald green gamecube controller and if black wiimote come out outside of the us, i'll import that too.

Oh good. Though I am still stuck only getting three, because blue and silver is all well and good, but there's no way I'm getting a pink wiimote. Why not a black one? Or red for that matter. Forest Green would be absolutely awesome, but I won't hold my breath for that one...

I only have 3 Wiimotes. Now I can't get another one until the blue one is released. I also have a thing for blue. It will be my special 1-player controller and I will love it forever and kill anyone else who touches it.

Man that gives me flashbacks of the special gold edition toys 'r us N64. My buddy wouldn't let anyone use his gold controller, and then he would bring it to other peoples houses and refuse to use any of their stuff.
Here is to hoping for a gold Wiimote packaged with Twilight Princess for $80 with "more realistic waggle fishing."(I really am a Wii-fan I swear, but I had to say that its too easy to hate on my favorite next-gen console.)

I think Nintendo will announce the black Wii when Mario and Metroid are due to be released, there focusing on non hardcore gamers at the moment due to their current weak game releases thus far.

That's the reason why i think they delayed Mario and Metroid like they did, the console is selling well based off a pack-in and a GC port, why not wait and put out the heavy hitters for when sales begin to lag? (or to compete with the other heavy hitters of Q3/4, Halo 3, Fable 2, MGS4...)
