I really wish companies would stop trying to do this. I like having the platforms separate. Each offers a different experience. I'd be more interested 360/PS3 cross platform multiplayer games than 360/PC games.

What's left to make? Controllers and accessories? Gee, I wonder where I can buy those.

Maybe they could start a line of shuttle PCs with really good video cards (capable of running Crysis) and built-in HDMI and Component ports. Built-in bluetooth and packaged with a bluetooth gaming kb&m. 10K RPM SATA2 drives. Vista pre-loaded with an easy restoration solution on DVD. That would make a great gaming "console-esque" PC.

Tom,

PCs like that would cost at least $1500-2000+. Not exactly console territory.

@Tom: Can you say Phantom? How about Nuon?

Consoles are more readily compared to operating systems than to PC hardware. They are content platforms.

Is HP going to jump onto the Steam bandwagon? I sure hope not. Their computers already come with enough background crap pre-installed as it is.
