I have a Namco-owned arcade in one of our local malls, and they don't even have one... I tell you, arcades are fading away. Even the ones that still exist don't have modern games. I think the newest game in mine is the original Dance Dance Revolution.

They are selling their Ms. Pac Man box, though... tempting, but about $900 away from my basement.

I found that in Dunfermline in Scotland. I got very very excited and rushed over to play it. After completing the first race and coming first, it asked me fore another £1. That means it would have cost £4 just to play a single cup.

Absolute rip off.

Plus, playing MK with a steering wheel just felt very very wrong.

I used to work at a Namco arcade last year. We got that that game in and I have to tell you, it is amazingly fun. Although you're missing out on a small detail. The game is made by Namco, Nintendo, AND Sega. On the bottom left corner of the marquee, you can't quite see it, but it says "Tri-force: Nintendo, Namco, Sega" and has a little sketch of the tri-force. Truly amazing.

But as far as gameplay it runs like a dream and looks beautiful. The only thing that I had trouble getting used to was there is no jump button. You have to tap the break in order to jump.

I saw one of these machines in a very big arcade/minigolf building in Columbia, SC. They also had the F-Zero AX Machine, as well as a very interesting machine that featured Donky Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, and Mario Bros. And just so I can clear this up, Nintendo, Namco, and Sega developed the Triforce arcade board. It is based around the GCN's arcitecture. Namco and Nintendo developed this game, as well as the sequel. I have to agree, though, it really is way too expensive.

There has been one at Golf Land: Sunsplash in Mesa, Arizona since it was released here(The first one -> last year sometime). They pretty much get everything right away. They also had the f-zero machine when that was out.

Fun game.

I recently played this game at a Chuck E Cheese in TN. I believe there is on at the Chuck E Cheese in Grand Junction, CO too. It is amazingly fun. My brother-in-law and I stole all kinds of tokens from the kids and really enjoyed racing each other. Excellent excellent game!

I go to UT Austin and there's an arcade across the street from campus called Einstein Arcade. They have a pair of them there. And Yes it is hard to jump sometimes and drift, but the fun thing is that the machine takes a picture of you and puts on a mustache and hat if your mario, or a Yoshi hat if your Yoshi, etc etc. I'll try to remember to take a picture.

Exactly, talked about this 3 months ago.

http://madiart.blogspot.com/2007/01/mario-kartwe-are-waiting.html

The Wii can handle it, and it is a port. A summer release with online play (it would be great if they got rid of friend codes by then) would make sure that the PS3 remains in 3rd place this year.

Wii Fanboy, you have a responsibility to start a petition for this game...and this game only.

Yes you do.

They have a set of these at Frankie's Fun Park in Raleigh, NC (or at least they did the last time I was there.) There are crazy weapons that you can use on people that'll give them square tires (so that the force feedback wheel jerks around) or pies that are similar to the squid on the DS. One of my favorite things about GP is when you're in the character selection part of the game, it'll let you put a picture of your face in as one of the characters. I was always Luigi, so it would put a little green hat and black mustache over my picture. My girlfriend pretty consistently rocked my face off in this game, but it was a lot of fun. I got her back in the DS version, though. :D

Castles 'n' Coasters in Phoenix has a 2P unit, where one race costs 50 cents.

Cyberstation (a Namco-owned arcade) in Metrocenter Mall used to have a 2P unit, but it cost $1 a race. Ouch.

It's fun... but pricey...

I'm not sure about the newer ones, but I played the original I believe at Dave and Buster's in Providence RI, although it is possible it could have been at the arcade we stopped by in Vegas too, it was over a year ago.

I used to work in a pseudo-arcade (think locally owned Chuck E Cheese) that had this game. Unfortunately, I worked in the kitchen for very little pay and couldn't afford to try the game out. Arcades have become very expensive. *sigh*

Anyway, Orlando sounds like my closest bet now.

2 of these are connected at the Chuck E. Cheese in the Hastings Ranch area of Pasadena, California. I completed the Pac-Man circuit as Bowser. The one downfall was that each circuit only had 4 items available, but they were different each time. I couldn't even tell what a few of them did.

I'm a little late to this party, but I've gotta represent DisneyQuest. The place is one huge sprawling arcade, and they always have the best and newest games, even exotic stuff you'd never expect to see in the U.S. Good selection of classic cabinets too (Galaga, Pac Man, Defender, etc.). The best part, the machines are all on free play. It's like heaven.

I moved from Florida to New Mexico last year, and that place is high on my list of most-missed stuff. I haven't found anything nearly comparable out here yet, and probably won't, unfortunately. Anybody who gets the chance to go to DisneyQuest needs to get their butt over there.
