I picked up GHII yesterday afternoon at circuitcity for the 1600 MS points promotion and they were all out. The only thing they had left were some 4000 points cards!

Can't you already get 5000 points online? I just buy the points that cost $62.50 and it lasts months.

Lucky americans.....

Us brits pay DOUBLE that, AND we are only able to download HALF the content you can!

See all those demos you can download? We cant! How about the Movies and TV shows? nope, none! Hoow about themes and gamerpics? Nope, we can only download a fraction you can....

You buy 1000 points - we get 500 for the same price!

Gay!!

I know it's only a few pennies, but 5 1600 point cards in the US would be, at $19.99, $99.95. That's 8000 points. Two 4000 point cards would be $99.98, using $49.99 as a price point. The least MS could have done was knock $5 off the price of 4000 points. Why is there no savings for buying in bulk? I'll stick with 1600 point cards for now, thank your very much. It ensures I don't go crazy buying useless gamer picture packs or themes just 'cause I have points. :-)

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday, and the typical 1250 MS point cards had been replaced with 1400 point cards for the same price. Guess they upped the amounts in Canada too.

I ordered it online. I set it up so I could pick GH2 up at the store, but had the points card shipped to me since that store didn't have them in stock. I was happy.

There is a way to trick the system to give you downloads for other regions...

Dude, it's called exchanged rates, and i'm sorry you don't like it, but it's how the global economy works. I figure that you would have gotten used to it considering the exchange rates been about the same for US goods for a little over 5 years now.

unfortunatly for you, there are no EU based console makers, so looks like you get to continue to pay high prices until the exchange rate swings again. At the same time Americans don't have a VAT, so maybe you should take tha up with your local government, but you'll probably get no where.

You'd think MS would offer some ... oh, I don't know ... monetary INCENTIVE to buy a bigger card! As it is, just a bigger, more glorified gift card ("looks way better than two 1600 point cards!" ... yeah, right ... pfft.).

Well, it's not like if you bought any giftcard for a store you'd get bonus stuff/money for it. You pay $50 you get $50 worth in most cases... doesn't matter if it's Target, Sears or some restaurant.

At Best Buy there are gift cards in the games department called Gamer Gift Cards. Each has a $5 off coupon on the back good for any video game or accessory priced $19.99 or more. Using the coupon you can get a 1600 point card for $14.99 + tax. For me it comes out right around $16 for a 1600 point card.

Thats possible but trying to add points to that region unless you can get them shipped to you from there (When i got US points sent to me i couldn't add them to my UK account, and the other way around)
