Weekly Webcomic Wrapup: beware the Easter Cow edition
After an insightful episode of South Park that explained the relationship between bunnies, eggs, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we decided to do some of our own research into the history of the seemingly bizarre Easter rituals. After becoming bored with that, we thought about easter eggs in the virtual sense -- i.e. those hidden treats found on CDs, DVDs and video games.

If the Cow level counts, that's definitely mine.
Moo.

CAD 4 life
Mr Khan @ Apr 7th 2007 4:06PM
It's-a fatal, definitely, although it's only a step ahead of the IBM one
fictitious Arson = funny
Pikachelsea @ Apr 7th 2007 4:41PM
Those were all horrible. I refuse to vote for any of them :P
Rubang B @ Apr 7th 2007 4:51PM
The stupid RPGTV one didn't make any sense. If you flip that chart over, it would still be showing a huge decrease.
Revolution @ Apr 7th 2007 5:15PM
Garbage. All garbage. I'm a fan of a couple of those strips, too, but all of those sucked ass. I'm watching MST3k and am in a laughing mood, too. That's sad.
hvnlysoldr @ Apr 7th 2007 5:20PM
Digital Unrest mentions Chick Chick Boom. Extra Life points out the real winner is IBM. The one I really liked was 2P Start's Nights Journey of Screams. Showing the Shadow the Hedgehog creators to leave well enough alone.
Tetranitrocubane @ Apr 7th 2007 5:25PM
@#2 & #3: W... Wait. People actually like CAD? Seriously?
Kye @ Apr 7th 2007 5:24PM
Joystiq
Seriously, you talk about easter egss but didn't include this comic?

On topic: I, at this moment I cannot recall any cookies.
That is all.
Mrfreezie @ Apr 7th 2007 5:32PM
So are you guys not counting VG cats anymore?
Antonio @ Apr 7th 2007 5:40PM
While I didn't get a laugh out of it, 2PStart's comic definitely hits the right note.
The rest of them suck.
NeverSage @ Apr 7th 2007 5:47PM
LOL "I try-a to put it out, but all water is made of paper!"
HAHA! That's gold joystiq! Gold!
Zachary Hinchliffe @ Apr 7th 2007 5:58PM
Extra Life is the winner this week.
Rubang B @ Apr 7th 2007 6:27PM
@Kye, haha that God Mode was great. The cell phone zing gave me a nice chuckle.
Robert @ Apr 7th 2007 7:36PM
Here's a sonic, Mario olympic game one http://www.gamersgalaxy.net/comic
Carl @ Apr 7th 2007 8:10PM
This week is kind of dissapointing, I mean seriously, almost as terrible as the God of War comic last week that was drawn by the 5 year old.
Chrysis @ Apr 7th 2007 9:13PM
@5 Rubang B,
Yes but the chart still has an incremental increase if you check real carefully. Seriously though I think the chart would have had to be printed on transparent acetate for that to work. Our comic was retarded.
Kritz @ Apr 7th 2007 10:08PM
I think I'm starting to like Dueling Analogs and Digital Unrest more than CAD and VGCats now.
Might have to fiddle around with my bookmarks...
Oh, yeah. Voted for Analogs. I thought the joke was pretty cleaver.

I don't like that gamers galaxy site. The archive looks like an FTP site and the drawing crude.
Where is VG Cats? They've got a hilarious one about EBA and Hitler. OK maybe not haha funny but still.
Forgot about favorite Easter egg. The Mario portraits at Zelda's garden and the eel at the bottom of the lake lab.
hyperion @ Apr 8th 2007 4:28AM
Jesus Christ.
How the fuck is Tim Buckley still making comics?
CAD is not funny. At best, it was chuckle-worthy. At worst it was downright stupid.
The internet needs to stop giving that man free fucking money.
Rubang B @ Apr 8th 2007 4:42AM
@Chrysis, hey cheer up little buddy. In my furious post earlier I forgot to mention that I thought the 3rd panel was great. Drowning jokes are always good.
Skunkie @ Apr 8th 2007 12:34PM
I couldn't agree more. the comics being pumped out lately are awful all around. I recently ran across a new comic site that is filling in the gaps so many comics right now are leaving.

I highly suggest you guys take a peek. Joystiq might wanna include this in their round up as well.
Chrysis @ Apr 8th 2007 8:33AM
haha sorry RUbang I didnt mean for that to come out depressed sounding it was meant to be tongue in cheek :) Many thanks!
hvnlysoldr @ Apr 8th 2007 9:45AM
That slime culture webcomic is kind of good but it doesn't have a very good archive. When I look at a webcomic I want to be able to look at the whole thing very easily.
Evan @ Apr 8th 2007 9:52AM
Why no Penny Arcade and VG Cats?
Penny Arcade's Rock Band comic should qualify.
http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2007/04/04
And both VG Cats' recent Zelda and Viva Pinata comics have been excluded!

"CAD 4 life"
"LOL "I try-a to put it out, but all water is made of paper!"
HAHA! That's gold joystiq! Gold!"
Allow me to start a fire so you two can go die in it.
CAD is horrible beyond words... I don't understand what kind of simplistic idiots can even find the Paper Mario comic even remotely amusing. Like WTF?
steve @ Apr 9th 2007 11:19PM
diablo2 ahhhh....
dont kill the cow king or you cant make the portal to the cow lvl again
**im a nerd**
Mr Khan @ Apr 8th 2007 3:18PM
@ TruthBeTold
I still like the humor found in modern-day children's cartoons (especially Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends and Fairly Oddparents), as well as stuff like Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen, while still appreciating more complex satiricals like the work of Garrison Keillor
Stupid humor just happens to really click with me, but i'm a comedic conneissour
And you must've HATED Steven Wright...
Slaziman @ Apr 8th 2007 8:14PM
Shit, am I the only one that thought CAD was funny? FUCK! Its-a hot!!!
But I voted for 2pstart, Journey of Screams LOL
Jay @ Apr 8th 2007 9:15PM
Wow, that was an incedibly difficult decision for me...howver, in the end I went with Nights.
Rich @ Apr 9th 2007 12:39AM
The CAD one isn't funny because the joke is explained in ALL FOUR panels, a weak joke at that. And considering that "paper" jokes like this were probably first made when the ORIGINAL Paper Mario came out in 2001, it's just tedious.
Ninegauger @ Apr 9th 2007 1:51AM
I worked my butt off to see Yoshi in 3D by getting 120 Stars in Super Mario 64... that was pretty cool.

Man, these were all stupid. Seriously, CAD and Dueling Analogs are both drooling, stumbling mockeries of webcomics.
