Special Xbox 360 Elite black HD DVD drive up for auction

One of the first things we asked when Microsoft (finally) confirmed the Xbox 360 Elite was whether all of the peripherals would be available in black to match it. While controllers (keyboard accessories?), wired headsets, and Play & Charge kits will all be available in black, we were led to believe that other peripherals, like the HD DVD drive would not be. Well, that's only half true.
Members of the HD DVD development team, like Andy Pennell, were given special black HD DVD drives with a black remote as a "Ship-it" reward. Even better, they're allowed to sell these ones, as one other team member has decided to do. Currently fetching $347 on eBay, nearly double the standard price, this limited edition drive isn't for the casual fanboy.

lame....you could wrap your HD-DVD in black electrical tape/spray paint the case for much cheaper. why would you want to pay MORE than the retail price of something?

If I had the money I'd drive a ferrari, even though it would get me around as good as my RSX. So whats the point? Get what you want, if you have the money, go for it.

Its mini USb. You connect that to a USb port on the 360 itself. The 360 than handles all the processing and video output.

I orginally bid on this over a week ago. The Final price it went for was $610 at the end of auction. I didn't win. But about a hour later I recieved a email from ebay saying it had been pulled from auction. 2 days later it was back up.

The typos were a result of me being hurried. I'm not entirely sure if you are just being an ass for the sake of it, are actually an ass, or have some sort of lovers tiff to sort out with C. Grant. To be honest I don't actually care which of the above it is but hopefully the next time you ask a question of anyone they respond in a manner similar to your own.
