Boom Boom Rocket fires onto XBLA this Wednesday
Serious Cat is in severe danger of losing his home this month, but do you care? No, of course not. You're about as giddy as a 13 year old girl at a Cheetah Girls concert, what with all your Xbox Live Arcade releases as of late. Is that how you get your kicks? He's got a family you know. A whole litter of em'. But don't let that prevent you from enjoying this EA Pogo rhythm title.
Boom Boom Rocket will be available this Wednesday (see: tomorrow) and will cost 800 Microsoft Points. We here at Joystiq love pushing buttons really fast to music when a game instructs us to do so, but we're a bit cautious with this one. Dance Dance Revolution for your fingers and fireworks? Sure, sounds great. We only hope that by "ten original tracks" they mean there are ten tracks on top of the classical music turned eurotrash we've already heard. Otherwise, a certain cat who's known to be serious may just earn a check this week.

And I happen to enjoy Euro-pop-ish "trash" as you call it. Beats the crap out of Friday Night Remixes on the local R&B station. I'm all over this one.

So glad my 360 died, otherwise I would kiss my grades goodbye now. Sigh...
ChuckSteak0331 @ Apr 10th 2007 9:56PM
Um, lets hope this uses analog stick cause its going to be an abortion if it uses the D-Pad...
mtj @ Apr 10th 2007 10:04PM
Looks like it uses the four face buttons if the colors of the "notes" are anything to go by.
umm....hello??? @ Apr 10th 2007 10:19PM
err, yeah....because this looks nothing at all like Guitar Hero with particle effects instead of little molehills for pressing buttons at the right time....pass. call me when GH3 comes out this fall.
craig @ Apr 10th 2007 10:27PM
I can't imagine worse music. Maybe if they downloadable levels and had a compilation called "Kenny Loggins Greatest Hits."
Halfbreed @ Apr 10th 2007 10:57PM
It uses D-Pad and/or buttons.
Also, its 10 songs, but three difficulties.
Come on people, its XBLA, not the $90 guitar hero.

The Anti-Flow.
This seriously strikes a uh... chord. Taking classical music and putting it to trancy-type things while watching pretty colors...
Stoner's Revenge.
This is something that has a broad appeal, we're seeing that increasingly with the xbox360's larger fanbase (and I'm not supposed to be a fan), there are more 'light' titles like this, and that's appealing to those who tend to see the xbox as a first-person-pwner box.
TheAdmiral @ Apr 11th 2007 7:53AM
Wow... the first track in that video is such a blatant rip of 'Lost In Space' by Apollo 440... I'm amazed they can get away with that!
ALH @ Apr 11th 2007 8:15AM
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Dammit! Why oh why did i have to come back to my home without xbox live access so soon.
baby sea tuna @ Apr 11th 2007 8:49AM
Huh...we can use our X-Plorer controller on this, right? I mean, if I can use a DDR pad to play DOA, why not?..
elev8 @ Apr 11th 2007 1:45PM

blackadderhall @ Apr 11th 2007 4:59PM
I played this for a couple of hours today and I'm loving it. To say that the tunes are "Europop" is complete crap. Of the ten (not nearly enough IMO) tunes the game has, I think only 1 comes close to being called Europop. They're all classical tunes that have been given a thorough going over by what sounds like some very talented musical-types. I can pick out 5 tracks that sound like they've been got at by Madness, Apollo 440, William Orbit, Jean-Michel Jarre and Goldfrapp (not all at the same time).
Great game, but I would like to see some more songs though. And don't go serving up 500points for 3 songs either that's just sh1t.
