Switchfoot, DDR, Guitar Hero, and CARDBOARD FTW!
ahigee @ Apr 10th 2007 6:19PM
For busters achievement, I think he deserves a seal stuffed animal. ;)
StoneGold @ Apr 10th 2007 6:27PM
So how come Cardboard GH has online play, while real GHII doesn't?
Bradley G. @ Apr 10th 2007 6:32PM
Eck....that lead singer is horrible!
ray @ Apr 10th 2007 7:01PM

Mike @ Apr 10th 2007 7:05PM
Hey, editors, next time a story comes along like this...take a coffee break.
bgdc @ Apr 10th 2007 7:08PM
Is this a story? So a born-again christian rock band releases a video...why would anyone care?
GapOne @ Apr 10th 2007 7:25PM
Two reasons why anyone would care, as described in the description itself - excellent Guitar Hero reference, and GOB! That is why we might care...unless you have some ridiculous stereotype baggage against people who happen to be Christians. Sorry... did I just poke you in the prejudice?
freeeeedome! @ Apr 10th 2007 7:33PM
I like swichfoot!
I lesson to them all the time!
And for the most part...I find most Christan songs have more point than non-Christan ones...
Nice video though! mmmmm...Online GH?
extrarice @ Apr 10th 2007 7:38PM
This video is interesting because it demonstrates how these two rhythm games have permeated our popular culture. I think it's hilarious that (and interesting how) they decided to incorporate Guitar Hero and DDR as metaphors for people breaking free from the masks they have to put on for every day life.
thaichaiguy @ Apr 10th 2007 7:56PM
love it
CHINESE BABON @ Apr 10th 2007 8:02PM
Great song, great band.
Dave Silva @ Apr 10th 2007 10:14PM
Absolutely ridiculous. I loved this video.
Andrew Fong @ Apr 10th 2007 10:50PM
F-ing awesome. Buster for the win.
Brett B @ Apr 10th 2007 11:26PM
Buster+GuitarHero=Amazing
Tristan @ Apr 11th 2007 1:46AM
DERN those Christians and their rock and roll music!
@10: huzza for poking that wet blanket.
Aaron @ Apr 11th 2007 3:22AM
ugh. horrible band...bad video. GG.
Hostile @ Apr 11th 2007 5:56AM
Shite band, awful misuse of the word "thrash". Naff journalism all round! "Christian Rock" is the ultimate contradiction. Breed more lions.
Scott Mackenzie @ Apr 11th 2007 8:08AM
Yes, the group is spiritual, but they are genuine and worked their asses off to get where they are -- not fabricated or Nashville / LA / NYC flavor of the week. This is the best video I've seen with totally random celebrity since Christopher Walken in Fat Boy Slim's Weapon of Choice. Good for them. (If you like this song and don't know the band, check out "Meant to Live", "Learning to Breathe", "I Dare You to Move"...)
Greg @ Apr 11th 2007 8:29AM
There are plenty of great bands out there that are influenced by video games and incorporate their sounds into their music (Dragonforce and HORSE The Band spring to mind), not to mention the countless nerdcore and "bitpop" musicians out there. Next time, please cover them, instead of a a Christian band's attempt to look hip. "Hey kids, we like these crazy vidja gamez too! To the xtreem! Praise Jesus!"
And hey, if any of you liked this song, you should check out bands like Ihsahn, Dimmu Borgir, and Immortal!
Jon @ Apr 11th 2007 9:52AM
What is everyone’s prob with whether there Christian or not? Does it really matter? There making music. If you like it that’s cool, if not that’s fine. But why do you have to criticize there beliefs?
Mark @ Apr 11th 2007 9:59AM
It's a great video, but the second-worst song on the album. Seriously, where's my video for Circles or Faust, Midas and Myself?
trent @ Apr 11th 2007 11:30AM
seriously, if its christian or satanic or whatever it doesnt matter. if the music is good its good. musical taste changes from person to person obviously, so saying a band sucks is just one persons opinion. hating a band just because they believe in something you dont believe in is just stupid. thats like thinking "oh the guys in queen are gay, so i HATE queen!"
anyway the vid was really cool though the song sounds like every other switchfoot song.
Joe @ Apr 11th 2007 11:43AM
This is a great video. FYI, they are not a Christian band. They are Christians as people, not as a genre. Christians and non-Christians can have fun and make funny muisc videos from time to time.
phil @ Apr 11th 2007 5:07PM
@mark
i completely agree. let me guess, 'head over heels' is the worst? anyway, i've never been a huge fan of switchfoot's singles, they have some really good album tracks that their ultra-radiofriendly singles don't represent well. either way, the video has helped me like this song a whole lot more..
Matt @ Apr 11th 2007 6:06PM
Ok this video is amazing. Switchfoot is my favorite band I love Aressted Devlopment and Buster Bluth and Guitar Hero!
phil @ Apr 11th 2007 8:24PM
@Greg
"...please cover them, instead of a a Christian band's attempt to look hip. "Hey kids, we like these crazy vidja gamez too! To the xtreem! Praise Jesus!" "
you obviously don't have the slightest clue about switchfoot. i'll let the "christian band" tag slide because i've become immune to it's illogic, but they're the last band to go "Praise Jesus!" - over a span of 10 years and 6 albums, not once did they drop his name. so please shut up - you don't know what you're talking about.
megan @ Apr 13th 2007 5:29PM
I love this video! Awakening is an amazing song.
Job @ Apr 24th 2007 6:31PM
SWEETNESS! I love this video!
