I wouldn't mind a beefed up version of Halo I & II for the 360, with achievments, better graphics, and other tweaks.

There'll probably be another series of halo games that center around the SPARTAN IIIs like ghosts of onyx
i really really really hope they don't run this franchise into the ground by trading in the quality of games for the quantity of sequels prequels and other versions of the game
also Halo: Warthog racing could be worth playing, even if for only a few hours

I think Halo is an excellent franchise with a unique and very likable Hero, and equally likable characters. The universe also has a good bit of depth (don't believe me check out the graphic novels). The save the world aspect always helps too. I say why not have more Halos to flesh out an already good story? It wouldn't be like Mario because there is no story to Mario, only the incentive to cash in on side adventures starring Mario and his Friends/Enemies. New Halos could open the doors to The Fall of Reach, the Spartan Projects, etc. I think this is why Halo is so loved by many, it has so many aspects that make it not only a good game but a compelling story.

i thought i was reading an insightful comment about halo until I saw the pointless bashing of mario (have you played any of the recent mario games?) then I realized the post was by longshotx and it made sense.

The parts about halo having a lot more depth than people give it credit for is true though.

My guess is, anybody who says Halo is overrated, does not have an XBOX and will never buy an XBOX or 360 or anything microsoft related. Their loss of a Fantastic GAME!!

People do have to recognize, Halo was spectacular. Halo 2 is still the #1 xbox live game (xbox 1) -

almost three years after release.

Yeah, and starcraft is still the number 1 RTS game, what, 10 years after its release. Doesn't make either of them any less overrated.

PS. I like halo and starcraft, I just recongnize the hype has outstripped the experience.

While the discussion is already all riled up, um, yes, Bungie said themselves that there would probably be more Halo games. Halo 3 is just the last one of this story arc.

HALO 1 spectacular? it was CRAPtacular..

I have been playing FPS on consoles and PCs since Wolfstein 3D and for me HALO was one of the most crappy FPS.

yes, I played Halo and finished It because i was always waiting for the spectacular gameplay/story and never happened.

Anyway. HALO 3 seems to be very very good game.
But HALO1 is the sux0r. bad music, bad story, bad level design, bad graphics.

wtf people, was halo1 the first fps you played, or the xbox1 your fist game machine?

halo sucks. its too slow and an average fps with average design at best. these little ms fanboys make me want to destroy my 360 if it wasnt for a bunch of kickass games i wouldve done so already. this is why people hate ms they think the only reason to get a 360 is because of gaylo. when in reality there are at least 10 games worthy of a 360 purchase.

Has anyone considered the fact that although Halo Single Player is ending with Halo 3, that a game like Halo Tournament 1, 2, 3, 4....etc could be the future of the game. Less story, more multiplayer online goodness, graphics upgrades, weapon upgrades and map paks aplenty. I mean, who really wants Halo multiplayer to end with Halo 3? If they are done with the Single player story, fine. But, 90% of Halo fans are fans because of the multiplayer Mayhem that brought us all together at halo parties back in the day, am I right?

Aha, now I understand this orange.micro cat. When it comes to the 360, he claims that Halo is shit and is for lame MS fanboys, and says there are 10 amazing games that are worth buying a 360 for. When it comes to the Wii, he claims that 46 of the 48 games totally suck shit and the only 2 good games are Wii Sports and Zelda and he's sick of them, and the only good game on the horizon is Metroid (not even Smash Bros!!!). He somehow prefers Metroid Prime to Halo while at the same he prefers the 360 to the Wii. That just makes my head spin.


Well I'm sure we'll see many more Halo games, since it's the only successful IP that Microsoft owns. Rare's been letting them down, and Bungie hasn't. Halo = Microsoft's Games and Devices Division.

In other news, Sega is planning a new Sonic game! RockStar is planning a new GTA!

People only say Halo is overated because they don't realize that it's the BEST FPS ever on a console and if you don't believe me name another Console FPS since Halo that didn't take some sort of Idea or gameplay detail from it. So keep saying its overated people just love to hat games that are on top
