It should occur to you that Gamestop wants you to buy both so they can make a hefty profit off of you.

And btw "Jack of No Trades", Ernie and Bert didn't have a mortgage but I'm sure they paid rent. :)

coke (well diet coke) is soo much more refreshing than pepsi..

people say ive been brainwashed and that theyve programed my brain into thinking i need a coke..

but on a hot day a coke with a slice of lemon, some ice in a nice tall glass is unbeatable.

pepsi is basically supermarket soda..

flat and sugary.

gross.

I find coke to have a stronger smell than Pepsi. Dont really prefer either since both have so much sugar... Water is the way to go... or sparkling water.

I prefer Dr. Pepper but if I can't get that it's Coke. I like the stronger spicy taste in Dr Pepper and Coke. I find Pepsi too sweet and flat. But just like the Wii-PS3 debate it's all about Preference, price vs feature needs.

Both systems are consoles, yes?
Both systems are struggling to acquire exclusive third party support to compete with the 360, yes?
Both systems were released within the same quarter, yes?
Both systems have motion control, yes?
Both systems have built-in wifi, yes?
And both systems are consoles that are trying to catch up to the 360's head start, yes?
Also the PS3 is factually selling at a faster rate per month than the 360 was when it first started out, so it's kinda showing that the 360 has already started to fade out in this battle. In Japan it is true as well that the PS3 and Wii are in competition and the 360 is a forgotten bystander. I don't think this writing from Gamestop is entirely inaccurate in how it evaluates the console race. The 360 is clearly the least competition of the 3 in units sold per time on the market. It is clearly the least competition price wise IF you evaluate every feature of each system.

Does Weblogs Inc. have a deal with Wikipedia? Linking to a movie's Wikipedia page instead of its IMDB page... it's just not done. Hovering over that link and seeing its destination was a very shocking event.

Jack had it pretty much right with his comparisons, but he forgot

Dr. Pepper > All pop/soda.

Then again he is right that when you add some rum to coke its the best. I got really messed up on St. Patricks day this year, and thats no easy task, I have quite a good alcohol tolerance.

But

Coke with lime was the greatest drink in the history of mankind.

the pinacle of liquid satisfaction.

I do agree with the basis of the article. In the western world we view just about every thing as either being 'Black or White' (dont take that literally please).

I myself have always had mixed intrests without (intentional) bias. I really loved the n64 and I really loved the ps1. I can say I dont like my ps2 as much as i liked the ps1. But I never took a stand on one or the other. To this day I own xbox, nintendo, sony, and sega products. I dont know why you would stick to one as if it were illegal to have 2 different interests.

Coke is totally uber1337 with it's 9 symmetrical Cores of sugar (PPS) compared to Pepsi with it's fad of a drinking scheme (shake it around, then shotgun it).

Coke FTW, Pepsi is for the kiddz.

Whoa, me thinks that there better be a Wii poll for these match-ups. (Minus the Wii vs. PS3 since that would obviously be slanted.)
IMO:
Pepsi > Coke
DC > Marvel (Only because I don't read much more than the Elseworlds, and I can't find the Marvel equivalent other than Marvel 1602)
Star Trek = Star Wars (Not the same, but I enjoy them both)
Also, does GameStop want to start a war? What are they thinking?

Joystiq's editors need to take a serious look at the article Kotaku linked today about Microsoft's Channel Stuffing. There are only around 5-6 million 360s sold worldwide thus far, the rest are sitting on store shelves and in pallettes in the back. Zune, Vista ,etc. make valuable bargaining chips for executives who need to sell some good numbers to stockholders. When the next NDP numbers come through, the Wii will have already outsold(actual sales to customers) the 360 and the PS3 is on track to pass it before the end of the year.

And to all of the no-nothings who think Microsoft made money shipping these still-unsold boxes to retailers en masse, think again. These retailers can always get their money back from Microsoft and ship the boxes back(which they will once demand dies down for Vista).

No wonder Gamestop/EB/Bestbuy/Etc. are upset with MS.

This is clearly a ploy to sell more PS3s.

By saying the battle is between the Wii (still hard to find) and the PS3 (still easy to find), they're hoping to trick kids (kids with mortgages no less) into thinking the PS3 is actually a hot ticket item like the Wii.

Soon PS3s will be flying off the shelves. Right after I take out a second mortgage on my house for my kid.

Well the PS3 is competing with the 360 for the same games and the same players. The PS3 is competing with the Wii for new buyers and media space. And the Wii is winning.

Really, the battle is between 360+Wii and the PS3, at least in my mind. The 360 and Wii complement each other more than they compete. The PS3 is a distant outlyer. There's very few games on the PS3 now or in the near future that even warrant looking at it over the 360, and the 360 has a much more robust, proven online strategy. Home be damned.

Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper is just two regular Dr. Peppers duct taped together. It is only cool for old people who don't know how to drink Mountain Dew.

I think everyone should stop looking at consoles sold (or shipped), and look at games sold. That's the REAL indicator of how well a console is doing. What is the percentage of people using their consoles for games vs. ... well a Blu-ray player for instance. The console that sells the most games ALWAYS wins.

Always is a strong word. If it's being sold as a blu-ray player and blu rays sell like hotcakes, Sony will make the money back on both ends, making up for poor game sales by rediculous profits on both the in house movies, and the kickbacks from other movie houses using their proprietary format.

Clearly, you've lost your mind. The fact that Batman alone could take down anyone in the Marvel universe is a testament to that.
FACT!

PS3 can sell as many consoles as it wants it is still not the preferred choice for the best online experience and the best HD games and exclusive content.

The Wii has SD Yahoo Flash! games...who wouldn't want to play those on your TV in good old traditional low resolution!

@ Brandon

But Natalie Portman > Jeri Ryan
Although as characters: 7 of 9 > Padme Amidala

Even though (largely thanks to Spike TV and boring afternoons) I am now a great Voyager fan (longtime Next Generation fan), i still have to say Star Wars is overall better in small doses,

But i can kind of see where GameStop is going with this, the two consoles first of all are night and day in terms of vision (philosophy if you will) and released in the same quarter

I would say Nintendo sees the PS3 as the bigger threat, while Sony sees Nintendo as the bigger threat, and Microsoft clearly sees Sony as the bigger threat (why go for HDMI otherwise?)
