It was tons more fun to drive the camper off the edge of the mountain than to fly a plane...

u f@'ing retards! I hated planes in SA, they sucked ass!

and as far as the reason they didn't include them...if you were bright enough to read the link, ITS NEW YORK CITY!..flying through a metropolis would be too cumbersome, and its just not worth it.

get off your piss pots you whiny bitches.

46. **"allowing the player to plot their [sic] own destiny"

I hope it wasn't you guys that put that 'sic' in there.**

I hope it was. It is technically gramatically wrong to say that ONE player has THEIR destiny. Since "they" means more than one.

Posted at 2:05PM on Apr 11th 2007 by Jonathan Tran

HA HA HA HA... that's funny Jonathan.

It is perfectly correct to say their own destiny when referring to one person. They would become they're which has to do with "they are [this or that]...

In regards to the post- If you like GTAIII- you will like GTAIV. I am POSITIVE that there will be enough new stuff to hold everyone over and people will say owww and awwwww.

Oh- and more compact smaller area is MUCH better than rolling hills of.... grass? If you want to roam around in a car over hills get motorsorm or something. This is about CITY life.

ugh, no planes ftl :( I loved the GTA games, but the only aspect that gave them any kind of replayability to me was the planes. I still turn on SA to run a million vigilante missions in my attack heli or go cruising around in my dogfighter... no desire to do anything but fly in the endgame...

umm... why, in the beginning, do they call this game an xbox 360 work in progress instead of a next gen or current gen or rockstar work in progress... i do own a ps3, (only a ps3) so call me a fanboy. i do not regret it, and i dont like arguin about which one's better cuz i dont give a shit...
oh and #20 - ur a racist jerkoff
oh and for those xboys that say if it was only for blu-ray ps3 there would be no difference... well if you just let go a little of your stubbornness... you'd know that a game thats only coming out for one system is way better than a multiplatform... ESPECIALLY if one is limiting the storage capacity

I don't mind the fact there are no planes or the city is much smaller, BUT Rockstar better be right when they say it will be more densely populated. You better have the option of entering more buildings and running around killing more people and banging more whores.

Let me tell you whats going to happen here. If you know the history of the GTA series I shouldnt have to tell you.

GTA had motorcycles before GTA vice city. But when vice city got the motorcycles it was REVOLUTIONAL! for the new gen.

Now they are trying to do the same things with the planes. They will probably take away the bicycles and the planes and bring them back on the next GTA. And then guess what! It'll be revolutional!

I love and hate you RockStar Games!

The biggest game of 2007? I can imagine that a couple of Nintendo games will dwarf what GTA IV can pull in.

I do believe that you're supposed to write "his/her" or just one of the two instead of their. 'tis just what I've heard.

As far as planes go, I think they were the most fun thing in the game, especially once you've done basically everything else. When friends came over, you just spawn a plane and fly round... good times. Gonna miss those planes.

eh. not too sure how i feel about this. i definately love the addition of the mutiplayer as this was my favorite part of the PSP versions of GTA. and im kind of bummed that they're doing the present day simply because we get a 2007 soundtrack. the old school soundtrack was always one of the better features in all of them and something i looked forward to. hopefully they will have an old school radio station as well. and the new physics and graphics are a given for next gen so no surprise there. the subtraction of planes is also a big lose, which im sure is the result of the 360's inferior disc space. at least with the console's respective networks, there is always a chance for a patch to add things like MMO multiplayer (god that would be fun!), and planes, and other vehicles.

so im just gonna take a wait and see approach. its GTA so i know im going to buy it and im sure it will still be fun but im still kinda worried that its gonna be the same old game again. third time in liberty city huh...sigh.....

Maybe the lack of planes is a sign that the buildings will actually be destructible? (couldn't hardly have destructible buildings if there were planes to fly into them, for various reasons). I'm about 99.9% sure that Helicopters will be in the game. Honestly I was hoping for a large area, not quite as large as San Andreas, but still with room to roam. I kinda liked taking a drive along the coast in San Andreas =/

"blame Microsoft for the planes. this is what happens when the leading development platform has limited space capacity."

Actually, since the setting mimics NY so well, they probably didn't want any 9/11 activist banging down their door.

The places were a piece of crap to fly anyway. :P

The 360 uses a DVD to store things, the same as San Andreas... so that doesn't really make much sense, does it?

Why do so many blame the 360 when it should be pretty obvious that the planes aren't there because of 9/11?!

Enough with the 9/11 excuse. If Rockstar got sued just because they made a game set in "New York" and gave the masses a plane to crash into stuff, I have to wonder how Microsoft Flight Simulator ever found its way to my local Best Buy. You think you can't already do these things in video games? Besides, even IF a ton of people felt compelled to crash their 747 into the GetALife building (or whatever)... SO? It's a damn game.

Amen.

I can't wait to see the achievements for 360 on this game. And content will ONLY be available to 360 and NOT to PS3 (Thank God). I heard there are gunna be 2 downloads, each being +10 extra hours of gameplay(which means now im gunna have to go buy that $179 - 120 GB hard drive). And leaving the rugged lands of Shaolin out? I'm fuckin pissed! I'm gunna go give Wu-Tang a call and let 'em know their Island isn't included in GTA IV. I know a shit load of people that are pissed that our island isn't in this game, but they put QUEENS, THE BRONX, AND JERSEY!!?!!? HOW DO U PUT THAT OVER STATEN ISLAND?!

Andy your totally right my friend. The 9/11 thing is an excuse and it was bloody years ago anyway. Get over it! No planes is a massive step backwards. I hope wackychan is right and this is just a ploy by rockstar to make the next one after this one look brilliant cause the planes are back. I bought saints row as a pure filler as i thought it would be like GTA. Ended up selling my 360 a week later cause I knew I would never be able to take to the skies. You can suck my balls rockstar for leaving planes out. Worst news ive had this year!

I think they should make all environments destructable.
Also, I'm sure we'll get plenty of room in a Central Park-ish area to indulge in our outdoor craving. . .
