It was only a matter of time before we started seeing the Blu-ray format used to distribute content besides games and movies. The first playable Blu-ray "demo" disc debuts is the June issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine. While we'll definitely be seeing the obligatory game demo, I envision a future where Blu-ray demo discs are filled to the brim with delicious and zesty media content in the form of movie trailers, TV previews and commercials. And I'm all for that... I love me the Blu-ray!What I'm not for is this little blurb from Sony: "We are very excited to offer a playable Blu-ray disc to UK PlayStation 3 owners."
What about the rest of the world, UK? It really is so like you to be selfish like this. We're sure it's all just a matter of time, but we're really, really looking forward to seeing this in the hands of PS3 owners everywhere.
