"To call Boll a "bloviating hack" is to insult the English language by referring to him with words and not a series of guttural grunts, obscene gestures, and bodily excretions. But excretions don't really come across that well in a blog. Maybe this "Web 2.0" we keep hearing about will remedy that."

I think that may be one of the best paragraphs I've ever seen on Joystiq. Very well done Tony. And I agree wholeheartedly. But you better watch out, Boll might show up at your house and beat you up.

Did I just watch what my brain is telling me I watched? What could have drove him to make such a video I wonder.

I just hope the backlash for this lands on his scrubby shoulders and not on the shoulders of the game industry... I would think that since it is a movie it would not land on games, but I have been wrong in the past.

Remember how AP (or whoever it was) actually stopped reporting on Paris Hilton for a while? And the online gaming community joked about doing the same for JT?

Is there anyway we could just do the same for Boll? He's a terrible director and an utter moron, we get it. There's really not much more that can be done to prove that point if there's still some person out there in the world that doesn't get it (Boll not included).

Movie looks poorly directed, as always. Like, painfully poorly directed. But some of the scenes of Zack Ward's straight face make me giggle in the way Boll wanted. That's never happened before. I'm predicting the right casting in an otherwise horrific film.

That aside, the terrorism gags seem fine to me. I think we're ready. And the gags make the terrorists out to be bumbling fools. I think we're ready for that, too. I knew people lost in 9/11 and had friends barely make it out of the towers. I still feel ready.

But I am likely a bad barometer. I am a Yankees fan that was making Cory Lidle jokes before his death was confirmed. I think all tragedy is densely filled with comedy.

Oh for crying out loud. Does Uwe Boll actually think this is innovative or entertaining in any way? He must the biggest idiot in the world if he thinks he can get away with this. We all know this stuff grabs headlines, but I don't think he's gonna be happy when the studio drops his ass and cancels the film.

I'm afraid jokes in poor taste exist boys and girls, many of which will be a bit too close to the knuckle, and some which will go right past and stop somewhere near your elbow.

Try not to loose too much sleep over them, and in particular this, because getting worked up only perpetuates the Bolls, Thompsons and other such asshats of this world.

People tend to forget, this IS grabbing headlines. Something a Uwe Boll movie NEVER does. When not even a single high school paper movie reviewer has yet to find any enjoyment from his films, he needs something to bring this into the limelight. This controversy? Congrats, advertising!

You better watch out, or Boll might try to box you. The only things this guy seems to know how to do is make horrible excuses for "entertainment" and punch people in the head.

Also, he signs that response "Dr. Uwe Boll", which I find completely ridiculous. I know you can get your GED through the mail, but a doctorate? Please.

Is this in poor taste? My opinion is yes.

However, the moment we start labeling things as 'sacred' is the same moment where we start censoring.

Then the question begs, who has the right to determine what is in poor taste?

These types of blatant shock-value advertising serve a necessary purpose which helps us define our moral limits. At the same time reminding us the cost of these freedoms, some of these costs are the subjection to poor taste ads like this...

If it was poking fun at the London bombings or the Madrid Rail bombings, you'd be agreeing with this person right now.

But heh, this man cannot be forgiven for how uttery shocking they made House of the Dead in movie form, hell, it made the Resident Evil films look watchable. But this guy is pretty much an egoistic film director (was the egoistic really needed?) backing his ego more than his work.

Jesus Christ, get the fuck over yourself Mr. Carnevale. You're no better than Al Sharpton, jumping all over someone for not being 100% politically correct.

The answer is clearly no? So I guess you've seen this movie? Good job talking out of your ass.

To be honest, his movie is definitely a wake-up call. We've been suffering through cookie-cutter comedies for years now where no one wants to make that movie that may offend someone. Scary Movie, Teen Movie, Date Movie, Epic Movie... Will Ferrell as a NASCAR driver! Will Ferrell as an ice skater! Will Ferrell as a basketball player! STOP IT, ALREADY! Thank god for silly foreigners to do something different.

Boll is (and I say this with my German blood) the greatest German to have ever lived, he's found a way to inflict agony worldwide without killing anyone(unless you count suicides during Boll films).

He's may very well be the first man in history to make something so bad, it goes past the wrap around to good, back to god awful, and then wraps around to good yet again, this time staying there. The world is a strange place, it's better that way.

Also 9/11 wasn't a disaster, it was a fairly blatant attack on western civilization. By the way, Boll has claimed Postal is being funded by Nazi Gold, this teaser is the least of your worries, PC crowd.

I can't say I disagree with some of Mrs. Boll's political viewpoints, but I still think he is a talentless, puffed-up, self important hack. I am totally against all forms of censorship (unless it invlolves kiddie porn or some other sick shit like that), but I could maybe get behind a constitutional ban on all things Uwe Boll.

I know his movies do well enough on domestic DVD and outside of the US, so shame on all you people who actually keep this guy working.

And to John James: Have YOU seen the movie? No? Then how do you know it is actually a wake up call? It will only be a wake up call if it's actually any good. I couldn't care less about the violent content or pokes at 911, but I can tell you that with Uwe's track record, it's gonna suck shit. Do you really think he's gonna go from his routine hackish crap to making an actual film that will start an intelligent dialogue about the problems in this world?

Again, I couldn't care less if his movies are politically uncorrect. We could use a little more political uncorrectness right now. But I guarantee you this movie will be unwatchable. Hell, if Postal gets anything over 30% on Rotten Tomatoes, maybe I'll climb into the ring with his sorry ass.

I thought it was funny. There, I said it.

Boohoo. Planes, building. Whoopity doo. They're dead. Maybe while we have a huge fit of patriotism over a joke (funny or otherwise), we can send another 20,000 (currently living) people to get picked off one at a time in an ongoing tragedy that we're allowing our president to carry out. YAY!

Given, I hate Uwe Boll. His shit sucks. But using an unfortunate event as a pivot to call for the stifling of jokes we don't like flies in the face of everything we're fighting for as gamers to begin with. It's all or nothing people. If games can't be legislated, then we can't go condemning jokes we don't agree with. Next thing you know it'll be taboo to make black jokes. Oh wait.

If his goal was publicity beyond gaming websites? FAIL. I posted the above clip at the AICN boards in a high traffic category...sank like a stone. The "Postal" thread is similarly down in the rankings (although it's great comedy; either Boll himself or a clever mimic has a running argument with the Zoners.)

All Uwe did was guarantee no theatrical distribution in the US. So I guess there was some positive benefit.

Most of you fuckers don't know what you are talking about.

Just because an event had less deaths than another doesn't mean it isn't a tragedy.

Let me know how close you guys were to 9/11? Well I was close enough to actually see the smoke in the sky, floating away. I was less than 30 minutes from Manhattan that day. My father went to 9/11 to save people and clear wreckage. Why don't you go to him and tell him 9/11 wasn't a tragedy?

Or how about Columbine.. was that not a tragedy? Get over yourselves.

We don't need these kinds of movies, he's obviously just doing it for stupid shock value. Someone needs to push this guy out of a building.

Just out of curiousity, what did some of you think of the South Park episode a few months back regarding the 9/11 conspiracy?

Now, I'll admit this is handled far worse than the South Park episode (as a sight gag like that is not going to draw many laughs from the crowd), but still...Boll isn't the first.

The trailer was interesting. Not funny, just cheap, messed up, and demented.

Anyone getting outraged over it is just playing into Uwe Boll's marketing strategy. Be calm and secure enough to say its a cheap gimmick and forget you ever saw it.

I, like everyone else, thinks that Uwe Boll should die, a very horrible death, before another one of his movies is released.

But.
Why is everyone mad at him for poking fun at 9/11?

Boo-fucking-hoo.
A plane crashed into some buildings.
Suck it the fuck up.
There's been so much drama and sadness around 9/11, along with all the FEAR the government puts into your head.
There NEEDS to be a little laughing around here.

I.
Will see Postal; just as I see any other of Uwe's nasty creations.
Will I laugh?
Maybe.
Will I want to kill Boll after the movie ends?
Most likely.

I do not ever rememer Pearl Harbor getting poked at with a funny stick and I certainly don't think it's right for 9/11 to be poked fun at. These are tradegies of american history. Some one seriously needs to put a nice sized bullet through Boll's head. Then half the world's evil's will be gone.
