Brain training is hot -- so hot, in fact, that it's spawned all new training games, and we fully expect to win the Nobel Prize in something within the decade, thanks to all this rigorous training. It also gets a lot of attention whenever someone decides to hand out awards, precisely because Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training -- Brain Age to us here in the U.S. -- really has revolutionized gaming. This time, it's the educational charity D&AD handing out the accolades, and Brain Training is in the running, and facing stiff competition from the other hot new ticket, Wii Sports. It's been a banner year for Nintendo, and we feel pretty safe in predicting that the Big N will take home a Yellow Pencil award with one of these games, though we're not sure which might come out on top. Nintendo's offerings face some fair competition, however, from the likes of LocoRoco, an online game (CDX) sponsored by the BBC, and the PS2's Shadow of the Colossus and Buzz!: The Big Quiz.
Last year's winners were Resident Evil 4 and Nintendogs, so the D&AD has a history of recognizing our particular brand of excellence.
