Halophiles Only: GameVideos analyzes recent Halo 3 documentary
We're sure that, like most Bungie fans, you've already watched this week's multiplayer documentary of Halo 3 more times than you've washed your hands since its release. But were you a bad enough dude to go the extra mile? Did you make sure to check for campaign footage in the reflection of a some programmer's glasses? Or attempt to decode possible hidden messages on Master Chief's codpiece? If not, don't despair. Luke Smith and Mark MacDonald have got you covered.
Clocking in at just over thirty-two minutes, their analysis squeezes just about all you possibly can out of the original seven minutes, including brief glimpses of the original pistol as well as unannounced weapons and locations. Their scrutiny is commendable, but being the gigantic nerds that we are we noticed they left out one tiny thing. You can just make out a Spartan, visibly carrying the energy sword as a secondary weapon at 22:04, which is something that we haven't seen before and could significantly alter the dynamic of being "that guy" with the sword. Take that, dorks!

Damn, too much info for Halo 3, esp the beta is coming up soon..
I'm worry if we get too much hype on Halo 3 then there won't be any WOW factor on the first day.
Korova @ Apr 12th 2007 7:05AM
I am going to take a few steps back from this, because I am afraid that this nerd puff up might explode and then it will take me forever to get all the bits of nerd out of my beautifully styled blond hair.

I bet that the footage in this video is obviously at least three months old cuz there are lighting effects like shadows of buildings or some ares of the footage not even on master chief or the vehichles or trees. Just saying i dought this footage is recent at all, if you go to ign.com and look at images on page 8 those look just like the footage in the new vidoc and those pictures are from the egm magazine months back a couple of weeks before the nintendo wii came out cuz i read the articles in that issue waiting for the wii. So the graphic probably are way better then that given i believe that the video was made not even in this year but late 2006. I hope the beta is from this months progress and not from what it looks like in the new vidoc and that hopefully they come out with an online multiplayer demo before halo 3 comes out maybe a month or 2 after the beta but i dought that to cuz its halo 3 they don't need a demo to sell the game just look at the lines from halo 2 when it when on sale and i still play it best $60 dollars i spent so halo 3 line are going to be crazy. 360 will sell so fast next x-mas it will be unbelievable. I don't think 360 will get a price drop till after halo 3 atleast not a huge drop in price.

GaryM @ Apr 12th 2007 7:49AM
They should do a 'Halo' documentary that attempts to explain why so many people like this way-overrated series.
jason @ Apr 12th 2007 7:59AM
this doesn't have to do with this but just read
halo 3 $70
mass effect $60
too human $60
bioshock $60 or maybe get collectors edition fo 70
gta iv $60 or maybe a collectors edition
super mario galaxy $50
super smash bros. $50
metroid prime $50
mario part 8 $50

alam awake if it ever comes out looks interesting
What ever other unannounced games or games i forgot that are coming out this year. Also new accessories and stuff announced at e3. My point is dam if all these games come out this year thats more than $700 worth of games. thank good if these games come out 1 to 2 months apart then i can get alot out of them through renting them fron game fly 2 games at a time.

how can it be over rated it broke records when halo 2 came out. The game has a great story line and explains everythin well thats happening if you played halo:combat evolved and halo2 and read the books(i haven't read them not a reader) you will understand the story line better. This game has the best online experience(party system, easy setup, and klan matches) and is very addictive i still play halo 2 online. Just wanted to mention if they do make a movie they should make it a trilogy and make it have same storyline as game with a little back story. I picture the movie like the star wars films if they can do it/afford it but not exactly like star wars type look and be a little more original cuz the creatures in star wars speak english and the creatures in halo series speak english so thats how i see the movie working out in my mind.

Having a large glowy energy sword on your back would really suck ass. The point of the sword is hiding, and then locking on for the one shot kill (however cheap that one shot kill is). This will make "that guy" an easy target, especially with the bubble shield.
Oh and I'm not gonna watch this video, I don't want to know anything too indepth.
Avalon @ Apr 12th 2007 9:48AM
I think they should make a "Halo" documentary which explains why so many people whine about the series being overrated.
G1ZM0 @ Apr 12th 2007 9:57AM
Good now that we have deployables all we need is jetpacks for a suitable Tribes successor.

Umm, that's the actual point. The ability to hide such a powerful weapon was stupid on Bungie's part. Now, you can see whatever weapons an enemy is carrying and plan attacks accordingly, making things more tactical.

I think halo has a lame story line. It does have the best multiplayer ever tho and thats why I love it so much. 1 player mode is levels which cut- and paste sections over and over again and have useless barage of dumb enemies come at you. What a waste of time. And their whole space story is really dumb too. I dont understand why so many people like it?
I cant wait for halo 3, but purely for multiplayer. I wish I could buy a discounted copy which contained only multiplayer.
jason @ Apr 12th 2007 12:16PM
@13 i still think halo could make multiple movies lets say a trilogy. Maybe the book would help you understand the story but you shouldn't have to read a book to know the story cuz i hate reading. so i will wait for the movie or maybe master chief will have flash backs in halo 3 though that could be stupid

mike simply doesn't like science fiction, due to a lack of imagination like many other people.

This has to be a beta that is as old as Halo 2. I understand it's a beta , but damn. It's no where near "Next Gen". It's kool to see old weapons, but been there done that.Wher is the new stuff?
Does anyone now whats the deal with dual weapons. In the video they make it seem like it will not be part of multi-player. Any ideas?
Vagrant Pistol @ Apr 12th 2007 6:16PM
They Have a lot of work ahead of them. Game seemed really choppy for a beta.
CalabreZ @ Apr 13th 2007 12:49AM
Eyy can sum1 briefly summarize wut the analysis says. My computer is trash and will only play the first 20 seconds no matter how long i leave it to buffer or how many times i refresh.
