The graphics are CRAP even for the Wii, that or the picture quality is horrible.

^ It's just the image quality, graphics look great otherwise, they should, given that's Sonic's Wii engine running things

Oh man, i can't wait, i bumped the DS Zelda and the new Fire Emblem off my list for this...

NiGHTS for a new generation. Sounds alright to me, since many people didn't play the first one.

I'd actually be fine with a straight-port of the original. I never played it, and neither did most people I know. I'm not sure I ever even saw a non-kiosk Saturn in person, honestly.

That said, I hope it's more of a "re-imagining" like Metroid: Zero Mission than a purely prettied-up port.

I also don't mind if it's a remake of the original because I've never played the original. And even with horrible picture quality, the environment and character models look very... Gamecube capable, although I think I can see a little bloom lighting being done.

As long as it's a REMAKE and just a PORT. I tired of games that don't make every effort to over-clock the system.

Excite Truck, has amazing visuals with sharper than Cube
surface rendiering. Once you've seen that anything less than that just feels cheap.

Add me to the "never played" list -- I understand it has a cult following, so don't hurt me if I ask... what's it about? I guess you fly around? Or something? It has a cool visual style...

Hmm

I never played the first one, so a remake is fine with me. Hard to tell on the graphics, since the picture quality is pretty bad, but if it's running on the Sonic and the Secret Rings engine then it'll be great, since that game is beautiful.

I'd been hoping for a VC release maybe a month or so beforehand, whet the appetite, then drop a brand new game. Having never played the first (me: right generation, wrong system), I'd always been curious about it.

If not a new game, then hopefully a well-developed remake would garner enough sales to warrant a true sequel. Although popular opinion seems to indicate that this game was preordained for the Wii, I'd hope that the controls don't feel shoehorned in as they do (at times) with Twilight Princess.

This is really good, cause I think most people with Wii's didn't play the original one. Also a remake is a remake.

Can't Gamecube do bloom lighting anyway? I don't know, maybe not, but the lighting in Zelda: TP was amazing.

If they're running it on the Sonic engine it should look good, anyway those scans aren't exactly great quality (and the game itself may be in alfa or beta form).

I bought NiGHTS on release and still own it and the bonus "Christmas NiGHTS"

NiGHTS is about 1 boy and 1 girl who have confidence issues ruining their lives. Every night when they sleep they meet jester guy. They can transform into him, and then use these power orbs to confront and destroy their nightmares. Ultimately they destroy them all and also meet each other and fall in love.

The actual gameplay is you transforming into NiGHTS then flying around, collecting energy to destroy nightmares, and meanwhile getting insane bonuses for trick combos. Boss fights were insane.

Also Christmas NiGHTS was the same game only it was only 2 stages (thus 4 total, 2 for each char). The difference was

1. The game changed to match time of day and time of year, as well as holidays like Xmas, Halloween, April Fools, etc
2. The plot was different and instead of destroy nightmares you had to get christmas presents
3. There were bonuses including karaoke, mini games, PC stuff (music, wallpapers), and unlocks including playing the game as Sonic from Sonic XTreme that never came out.

i can only describe it as being a 2d 3d racing game platformer without any other racers and sans platforms. propper.great replay value as the main game is just an intro to the score challenge. The closest thing to 3d sonic the saturn ever got. And the closest to the original sonics "feel" presented in 3d. IMO
