I'm not sure I get the appeal of NASCAR. Is it the speed? The potential for an explosive pile up at every turn? The excuse to throw the wildest tailgate party ever? Whatever the appeal, EA is looking to leverage it when they bring NASCAR 08 to the next-generation consoles later this year.

Some new screens of the multi-platformer hit the Interwebs today and they look mighty pretty. These shots are from the Xbox 360 version of the game, but we expect the PS3 to look nearly identical. Enjoy!
