The US release for the Xbox 360 Elite is rock solid, but Microsoft is still extremely vague on release details for other parts of the world. And so comes word from Xboxer that they've confirmed with a publisher, magazine, and peripheral manufacturer that Europe will not be seeing any Elites until November. As always, this news isn't coming directly from Microsoft and so you should treat it accordingly. But, as it looks now, Europe doesn't really have a choice when it comes to getting the black beast until later this Fall. Sticking to the Premium will just have to do for now, but maybe that's not so bad after all.
Elite to see a European release in November?

Maybe its because MS wants too give europe some formn of movie and tv show marketplace before giving them the new 360 with hdmi and bigger harddrive, I think all the deqals with the european networks will be done by that time.

Seems like a good idea to grab the Christmas market. For most people, a new improved back 360 will be a welcome surprise for many, plus it'll give Microsoft the time it needs to perfect everything.

I live in Northern Ireland and have no real need for the Elite
Component looks great and I cant really see any difference between my component 360 and by cousins HDMI PS3
Also the 12GB hard drive (sorry bt its 12 not 20 lol) is plenty for demos and arcade games and the video market place over here sucks (we do actually have a video marketplace in Europs, its got some music videos and game trailers on it, but thats about it)
Cant see this doing too well in Europe unless they procide a way to fill that hard drive, either from the video marketplace or the ability to rip dvd's and hddvd's. thatd be sweet
:)

Number 3 is correct. Most people don't know that the Elite is coming, and wont even after the US launch, therefore they don't know we are getting it nearly 6 months later. It gives MS time to manufacture them, and if demand in the US is high, send extra consoles there just like Sony did when they delayed the PS3 to give more supply to US and Japan.
I would really like the new 360, but I'll just wait until they make the Premium the same spec, by which time my 360 will have died and I wont have two 360s (well two working ones).

That's strange... at a meeting between all the store managers (this is GAME) in our region our senior regional manager said it would be the end of May for us (UK)... hmm, I might have to ask him next time he visits the store...

At least MS is providing equal opportunity overpricing on both sides of the pond. Just wonder what it'll retail at in Great Britain...

That's easy, just take the price in $ and stick a £ in front of it instead.
Well it won't be far off anyway.
I'm not fussed on the Elite, but if it's a sign the Video Marketplace is also on the way for us then the sooner the better I say!
